The home was everything we had expected. It was very clean, and easy to check in to. We had a great time, and would stay here again!

My family and I stayed here for a week together and had a great time, and with just a few updates it could be 5-star imo. Pros and cons (for our party) below: Awesome things: - historic charming house: so many nooks and crannies, wonderful charming decor, the kids (and I!) just loved to explore it - space: it easily and comfortably housed 12 people (9 adults, 3 kids). Rooms were big and spacious and comfy. I slept VERY well. - the VIEW: we didn’t see this in the original listing but the view from the front porch was amazing, especially at sunrise - check in was very easy as host is communicative Negatives - a lot of the old doors don’t close or are very hard to close, including one to the outside. One to the back always has to be locked even though we wanted to go in and out because otherwise it wouldn’t stay closed. We used a chair to keep it closed if we wanted to be in and out but didn’t want kids wandering unsupervised in and out - yard isn’t completely fenced in: this is fine for adults but if you have kids or dogs you def want to watch them closely as the house is on a busy street - not super clean and hard to keep clean as we couldn’t find a broom or anything to help ourselves All around we had a lovely time in this charming piece of Maine history.

Charming old house with plenty of room for groups to spread out. The remodeled kitchen has great appliances. The only negative is the antiquated plumbing in the bathroom sinks and showers/tubs -- house description mentions that BUT they need to be moved to the museum next door and some 21st century faucets and showers put in.

A historic well decorated charming place
A historic well decorated charming place
The house is full of history and so well decorated. It does come with the standard old house “charm”. Bathrooms are old and almost every door sticks, but the house does plenty to overcome the issues with superb decorations. The location is great with the best view around. The only downside to the location is the main road that has heavy traffic.
