We had a great time. The house was very clean. It was perfect for us. The only issue was the heating but there was a bunch of heaters and the central heat did work in the living room. Beautiful property.

Really loved the home and the view!

This is a specious , clean and accommodating home . Driveway was not bad at all as some of the reviews said.

Nice little spot in the mountains. Our family enjoyed this house even though we could only stay there 2 nights.

This home is beautiful and newly remodeled. Very comfortable for a large family. We loved cooking in the kitchen and wrap around porch. Pool table was nice to have. We loved having a fire at night outside. We used the hot tub a bunch as well. Great food nearby in Maggie Valley. You are way up the mountain and the driveway is no joke. You for sure need 4x4. Also not really trailer friendly. My husband is a professional so he managed it but not ideal.
Be sure you lock your car doors. The bears are very curious especially when you have the smell of BBQ in the back seat. We had one open the unlocked doors, sniff around and leave. Thankfully no damage to the car.

We have done a mountain weekend for 10 years in a row, and this is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in. Everything was extremely spacious, clean, and updated. Mattresses were incredibly soft. Loved the front porch and the views. The hot tub could stand to be a little larger since the house accommodates 10. Also be aware that the driveway is incredibly steep and hard to get in and out of. But those two things would definitely not prevent us from renting this cabin again!

Our family had a wonderful time vacationing in this lovely home. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable, with many amenities to keep us entertained! There were just a couple things that could have been better. We stayed for 5 nights. It could’ve been stocked a little better with essentials. We only had two towels per bathroom, the cookware was in poor repair, could use a bigger coffee pot, and there was no dishwasher tab soap to clean our dishes. Also, the driveway situation was a bit treacherous at times! But we are from Florida and not used to the mountainous terrain. Overall, we made wonderful memories here!

If you take a look at the aerial photos of this property, you will see that the gravel driveway splits, with one fork leading down to the house, and another leading to an open-air carport about 80 feet from the house, at the top of a flight of outdoor stairs. When we arrived, the fork leading down to the house was gated off, forcing us to park in the carport at the top of the outdoor stairs. It was not ideal, as we had a fair amount of gear to unload and get into the house, but we could probably have lived with it if that was the only issue. It wasn’t. When we opened the doors to unload the car, we were confronted by a swarm of yellow jackets who make their home in the railroad tie retaining wall on one side of the carport. Suffice it to say, yellow jackets do not take kindly to people who park next to their nest. We reported this issue to Vacasa customer support first thing the following morning and were told that they would promptly send someone out to take care of the nest. That never happened. For the duration of our stay, we were forced to park further up the driveway and walk up and down the long fork leading to the house that was gated off. The total distance from the front door to where we had to park was over 500 feet, the last third of which is up a very steep incline. We are in pretty good shape but were still huffing by the time we reached our car whenever we set out to leave; and you can only imagine how much fun it was getting all of our gear back to the car after a week’s stay. We would not recommend it.

We love the views from this cabin and the updated design and layout. It offers all the amenities (if they are working) we stayed I. This cabin in January 2022 and it was perfect. Booked again January 2023, and there is a significant difference in the working condition and cleanliness of the property inside and out. Management only offered automated responses to several issues throughout our weeklong stay. Never actually offering solutions. Issues included dirty showers and tubs upon arrival. Dirty smell to the rug in the living room. Very dirty sticky floors on main level. Hot tub took a long time to heat. Wi-Fi issues. Garbage throughout the property. Game closet was completely wrecked upon arrival. Roof was leaking very bad to the point we had to put buckets out and keep dumping them out. Very sad that this will not be the yearly tradition we had hoped for.

There were 7 bags of trash laying in the porch on our arrival. The floors were dirty. Some of the linens had stains on them. The kitchen table had not been wiped off. The house had also not been dusted. Lastly, the downstairs is not effectively heated.

Loved the cabin, location, and accuracy of photos/description in comparison to reality. If the owner will get a new hot tub in there and leave instructions for guests or have it cleaned/maintenance prior to stays, this would be a 10/10.

Great cabin , however , disappointed the hot tub was dirty and didn’t heat , so we couldn’t use this my kids were looking forward to that . The range oven also didn’t work , we bought food ready to cook as this cabin is at the top of a mountain, so no other access to food . It’s a steep drive 4 x 4 needed to access the drive in and out of cabin also . Reported faults to management company and nothing was done during our two night stay , requested some discount not been followed through .

This home is super spacious and provides plenty of comfortable amenities (beds were all great too). The drive going in is steep but easily done with an AWD vehicle. The driveway is very steep and don’t recommend going to the bottom without AWD. You must go down stairs to enter the house so may not be suitable for elderly visitors. High elevation home provides beautiful mountain views, it’s about ten minutes back to main road in Maggie Valley. Arrive for the first time in thr daytime if possible.

Had a great time at this beautiful property. Downside is it is a bit far away from everything and as other reviews have stated it is on a steep mountain side road. Definitely a 4 wheel drive needed if staying during poor weather. If you want to just hang out in a quiet wooded setting this is perfect!! Very poor cell service and wifi is not great so don't come here to work.
Would definitely stay again.

What a perfect getaway!
The house is located up a steep road, after doing it once and knowing what to expect, it was fine. We have an SUV that is not 4WD or AWD and it did just fine. In the winter, that would not be as easy, so plan on 4WD in winter.
We felt as though it was a great location to be able to go and explore multiple areas. One morning we went up on the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Waterrock Knob trail and hiked to an old place crash site. We went down to Lake Junaluska- you can walk around the lake and can rent kayaks etc.
Another day we drove over to Gatlinburg and did Anakeesta which was amazing! Gatlinburg is so very busy -so it was perfect to get a taste of it and then come back to the house where there is less hustle and bustle.
The last day we drove over to Asheville and explored - it's a quick easy drive there.
We jumped on the Appalachian trail just north of the house about 30 min and saw some cool areas to whitewater raft for the next time!
We really enjoyed this home. it's very well spaced out and has a great downstairs for family games and fun. Everyone we talked to were so kind and welcoming- we even saw a bear and 2 cubs! Looking forward to visiting again!

The home itself is great. Lots of room, the kids were able to stay on the lower floor the entire time, playing games, watching TV. There is their own shower down there, a pool table, TV, couch, double bunk beds. The main floor is nice as well, with two bed rooms, a deck, with a hot tub, and grill. Upper floor has another room, sitting room, and office. The area is peaceful and you will almost never see anyone.
The items you must be aware of is the drive up is just over a mile, and it is very steep, not too many switch backs, they just have you go up a steep incline. This puts a lot of stress on your transmission and the cars were hot. One of the cars had to stop and cool off half way up as the transmission heat exceeded maximum levels. This will vary by your type of car. Going down is also difficult. The first time I experienced brake fade by the time I got down as the brakes overheated, which happened while trying to keep the car at a slower speed. Putting it in 1st gear won't hold you back as it's very steep. Going forward I kept it in first gear, but allowed the car to speed up to 25 mph before tapping the brakes, some of the corners you have to hold the brakes around the full corer to keep your speed in check. So keep this in mind as well.
Internet speed was okay. It's wireless based, and I'm not talking about within the house, the internet comes in from a directional antenna that connects to another wireless base station somewhere past the trees. It seems to be impacted by weather as when it was raining and foggy speeds dropped to 500k. Most of the time it was around 4 to 7 mbps. Most of the time this isn't a issue as you generally come here to get away from things, but if internet is a must just keep this in mind as well. Cell signal is very low here, so you'll need the internet.
Neither of these are a deal breaker for us, we still enjoyed the home, and both are common in mountain resorts. However the road is much steeper than most places.
The home is nice, the beds are very comfortable as well. The kitchen is nice and makes it so you can cook during your entire stay. One other nice thing is they have extra HDMI cables connected to the TV in the living room, so you can plug in a device. We brought a PS5 so we could watch shows and play some games during the rainy times and having that HDMI cable on the ground made it very easy to just connect to the TV and off we went. The TV's are smart TVs and have Netflix and such built into them as well if you don't wish to bring your own device... just remember to log of Netflix or your other services when you leave.
