Older house with character, right downtown, so very convenient and charming on the inside. Host was responsive during our stay, even arranging for something requested (last minute, shortly after our arrival) to be delivered to the house! Living room and eating area were well outfitted and welcoming. The house had a large TV (WITH ENGLISH CHANNELS) which was awesome (I think the only place during our Iceland trip)! Blackout curtains were good (no need for eye masks).
House was NOT dirty, but not extremely clean either... there were some food crumbs on bench in eating area & kitchen, lint on floors, and a couple hairs in shower. Bathroom had no garbage can (that we could find), making using wipes/feminine products awkward (having to bring to kitchen garbage). House was a bit disorganized, like closets/cupboards... couldn't find proper coffee cups (only very small espresso-size fancier, like fine China, teacups)... same with finding proper bowls to eat breakfast cereal (either large mixing bowls or very small bowls). Cupboards in kitchen were full of items, but seemed more for display and then random hand-me-downs not wanted by host, rather than thoughtfully chosen items to properly outfit a rental. There was a very nice coffee pod machine, but no pods or sugar (that we could find) (checkin information stated what kind of machine was in house, but no mention we would be expected to buy pods for it... for only 1 night, we wouldn't buy pods anyway, only to have the rest go to waste as other rentals we would be staying at wouldn't likely have the same machine, not to mention we wouldn't want to waste valuable exploring time in a shop trying to find correct pods... all our other rentals provided coffee, tea, & sugar). All but 1 bedroom is upstairs, but bathroom is downstairs and stairs are steep, so not great for kids/people with mobility issues to navigate when needing to go to bathroom in the middle of the night. Only 2 bedrooms were made up, not allowing choice as to how we spread out... only rental during our stay to do this (w/no inquiry from host beforehand as to what bedding situation we preferred)... for the $500+/night price, we expected full use of house (or at least a mention from the host that this would not be the case). Of all our stays, we received checkin info for here the latest...

The location was great and Thordis was very nice and responsive. The living area was cozy as well as the eating area.
The beds were not very comfy along with the duvets. The kitchen did not have enough cooking utensils and there was only 3 decaf coffee pods.

Great location. Comfortable beds and bed linen. Kitchen and living room were comfortable. TV was good, with English channels.
Only one bin, in bathroom, none in kitchen. No mugs, only little tea cups. The crockery was pretty but all had metal on it so couldn’t be used in microwave. Couldn’t find anything that could be used in microwave so didn’t use it. Lack of plug sockets in bedrooms and those there were were by the light switches high up on walls so had to balance phone on something to be able to charge it. Nowhere to put any clothes in bedrooms. Only furniture was a bed and one tiny shelf. Wifi kept dropping and had to keep resetting it. Toilet was dirty when we arrived and we had to clean it.
