We drove through some run down neighborhoods to arrive at the property. There were numerous houses that had seen better days. The revitalization promised in the description was not apparent. Probably the most disturbing thing was the open drug use on the street that we witnessed. With children with us, we did not feel safe staying at this property. We contacted the property manager to complain about the misrepresentation of the property description. The manager said that all of that was researchable an advance and we should’ve canceled before the trip if we felt the neighborhood was unsafe. I question the manager about how we should go about researching open drug use in the streets, but they declined to respond any further. We asked for a refund since we could not stay there. Again, no response from the manager. Being from out of town, we, like many others, reply on the property descriptions and reviews. In this case, both were misleading.

We read the owners description of an area in urban revitalization...some people may not walk at night. I skimmed. The neighborhood left lots to be desired. However, the house had plenty of room for 2 families. FYI the 3rd story master is 34 stairs up. The only thing we would have liked is a table big enough for the number of beds it slept. There was just a small table for 4. In case you need to plug more than two appliances in, maybe ask to leave basement open. The homeowner had to come reset the breaker because we popped the fuses with 3 pizza pizazz, but she came out and we appreciated it. Check in was fine, found door unlocked from cleaning service, and check out is at 10 which felt very rushed with kids when most places are 11 or 12. Close to the City Museum amd Hidden Valley. Next time I'll probably look over the bridge. House and management were great.
