Contessa's Suite The Charleston of Milton Inn is located in the heart of Milton's Historic District. Within walking distance to all downtown shops, restaurants, Doghead Fish Brewery, Milton Theater, Waterfront Parks, etc. 7 Miles to Broadkill Beach. 12 miles to Cape Henlopen State Beach. 14 miles to Rehoboth Outlets and Beach. Our guest suites are located on the second floor. Each feature a King size bed, private En suite bath, private porch, and kitchenette. The Contessa's Suite Our very spacious accommodations provide individual climate controls, ceiling fans, kitchenette breakfast / workspace. We have super high-speed Wi-Fi 400 Mbps as well as wired internet connection via an Ethernet cable at the breakfast / work area. The smart TVs are equipped with 4K Dolby Vision, UHD, free Netflix, and Prime Video included. TVs are also hard wired to the internet (No Buffering) The King Bed. Your restful sleep begins with the Westin Heavenly Bed Experience. Enjoy 10 layers of pure comfort on your custom pillow top mattress. Layered with 100 % Egyptian cotton pressed sheets, plush pillows, and imported blankets from Portugal, of seasonal weight. Finished with a King Charles Matelassé Coverlet. Linens and towels are cleaned with Arm & Hammer Free and Clear / Sensitive Skin no dyes or perfume. Special Requests Encouraged. . Guests have access to the main porch, foyer, the gardens, and their own guest suite with their private porches. Due to the pandemic, we want our guests to know we are taking the extra precautions, and we deep clean the rooms continuously. You will have your own kitchenette fully equipped with micro, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker etc.

Amazing property and wonderful host! We spent the weekend for our anniversary. The home is beautiful, as was our room. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. Restaurants are within walking distance so we walked into town each evening and tried a new place to eat. The ice cream from the ice cream shop nearby is good too. The Doghead Fish Brewery and the outlets are all close by and make for good ways to spend the days. Would definitely come back to this one!

What a beautiful place in a quaint town. The decor was peaceful, uncluttered, and immaculate. The Inn is a new home with all the charm and beauty of something much older. We had coffee every morning on our private deck overlooking the lawn/ garden. We cannot wait to go back again! Richard is an impressive artist and was a wonderful host.

This is a new and gorgeous Inn that looks like it could be in Charleston. Richard is a wonderful host - super personable and responsive. The suites are big and beautiful with lots of lovely touches. The bathroom is also big with a nice walk-in shower and amenities. The Contessa Suite where we stayed has a wonderful balcony with seating, overlooking the beautiful garden. Milton is about a 20-30 minute drive to Lewes and Rehoboth beach. Very centrally located. It is a small town with a wonderful bakery and several restaurants.
We will go back there if we visit the area again and highly recommend it.

The what felt like, 900 + thread count sheets were a bonus, but then they went up a notch by ironing them! And the kitchenette. It may be tiny, but it contained everything you need to heat & store your food, or enjoy a hot cup of tea/coffee. There was even coffee creamer. And not the powdery kind, real cream. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on our private balcony enjoying the sounds of nature, and watching the bunnies run around the garden. Do yourself a favor and book yourself this special experience.

Richard you were so welcoming and it was a pleasure to stay in the Contessa Suite! It was immaculate and comfortable!! The decor was beautiful! We enjoyed the small town feel, like stepping back in time and living at a relaxing, slower pace! Wonderful place to visit if you want a relaxing vacation to recharge!! The garden is beautiful w the cozy balcony perfect for escaping into a book!

This is a lovely facility, in a great location. It is near enough to the beach communities, while being away from the throng and traffic. Easy walk into the charming downtown Milton, with good restaurants, coffee shop, etc. Richard is meticulous and has though of everything one might need. A real find!

We had a great stay in this beautiful house. The house is a real germ; it is a replica of the Charleston old house. The unit is sparkly clean and has everything you need. Richard, the owner, was very friendly and took time to show us around. We love the location: it is only 25 min from Henlopen State park, away from the crowd. We will definitely come back.

My husband and I had an enjoyable 3 nights staying in Contessa's Suite! This home is beautifully decorated with a well manicured lawn. It was really nice to have a private balcony overlooking the lawn, especially as we had one day of rain! After spending another day at the Cape Henlopen state park beach, I loved being able to walk across the hall from our room to the laundry room to launder our towels for the next day! My husband liked the coffee maker and fresh half/half that was in our refrigerator! The bed was super comfy and the house was super clean! We took advantage of the short walk to buy ice cream each night and the Irish Eyes restaurant was our favorite a few blocks away. Easy parking as well! Thanks Richard for the great stay!

Stayed 2 nights at this gorgeous property in July 2023. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Richard the property owner is a wonderful man and super friendly. The room was squeaky clean and made this stay perfect. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again for a great stay.

5 stars! Exceptionally clean. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance to restaurants in Milton. Quick drive to Delaware’s beaches. We had a wonderful visit and the host, Richard, was so accommodating, kind and welcoming.

Our stay was just perfect! Richard was an amazing host who had planned all the right touches from the room and private balcony to the luxury towels. He even made sure there was a power strip on either side of the bed. Milton was a lovely town and the Charleston of Milton was fantastic!!

My son was playing at sports at the beach.
The Inn was magnificent. It was clean, with beautiful decor. Only 8 minutes from the field. Very relaxing, comfortable, restaurants were in walking distance. The value was by far the best in Milton. I highly recommend this property. The bed was comfortable and my son loved the extra large shower head and walk in shower.
Thank you host Richard for the hospitality and great taste in decorating.

The owners were so sweet and the breakfasts were delicious! Our bedroom was beautiful and we had a great time! Gorgeous place! The only things we would recommend for any future changes would be to make sure the heat is on....really cold our second night, and a bathroom with a shower/shower curtain. Otherwise it was the perfect getaway and we may definitely visit again one day!

What a wonderful house and suite! Newly built with every detail perfect and beautifully designed. Richard was very welcoming and looked after our every need. We enjoyed the proximity to Cape Henlopen and Lewes which made for an enjoyable getaway. Hope to go again soon!

We wanted a nice place in a low-key area that was close to our places to explore. The Contessa Suite was such a place, but more elegant than expected. Basically, it looked brand new in a historical style, furnished with lots of art and sparkling surfaces that just felt good. The suite had an outdoor balcony for relaxing, and, an area for simple food prep, with sink and mini-frig, plus nice dinnerware for 2 guests. Also coffee and teas for sipping. Richard was a very gracious and friendly host, able to answer our questions and accommodate any needs we had. We were close to a small historical downtown area where citizens gathered for various local Fall events. Fairly cozy and artsy. Our place made a good base for us to visit Prime Hook Wildlife Reserve, Lewes and Cape Henlopen State Park, a lavender farm and Rehoboth Beach for a delightful French style dinner! Our visit was short but very sweet! We will come again when we visit the area to stay!

What a wonderful gem! The attention to details in the interior space is flawless, all lovingly selected and displayed. An ingenious mix of contemporary and vintage art and decor, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens. The host is very welcoming and accommodating, literally giving us “the shirt off his back” when my husband forgot his white shirt for a black tie wedding.. Richard came to our rescue! Thank you! When we arrived, we were greeted by the host Richard who was absolutely amazing. When he showed us the room, it was so elegant! I loved the way it was decorated along with how comfortable it appeared and felt. The private balcony, bed, as well as the shower is what sold me. It was very peaceful and quiet. We loved every bit of our stay. Richard even offered us some firewood for our bond fire at the beach.
