This little homestead was absolutely perfect! It had everything we needed and the location was in close proximity to everything we had planned on seeing. There was a welcome letter from the host when we arrived along with 6 fresh eggs for us to enjoy which added a special personal touch. The outdoor patio was extremely quiet and was the perfect place to relax and unwind. I certainly will be recommending this little homestead to family and friends!

5 stars – Perfect blend of comfort, charm, and scenery!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Rustic Rapid City Farmhouse. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and right at home. The barn strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort, with thoughtful touches like a microwave, toaster oven, and hot plate for convenient cooking.
The scenery was breathtaking—especially during sunrise and sunset. The location was ideal: private and serene, yet just a short drive to Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, and the Black Hills.
The bed was incredibly comfortable, everything was spotless and well-maintained, and we appreciated the little extras like local guidebooks, outdoor seating areas, and quiet walking trails. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly, and we felt supported throughout our stay.
This barn was the perfect home base for our week of exploring South Dakota. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a scenic, restful, and memorable getaway.
One small note: cell service was a bit spotty at times, but that’s to be expected in a rural setting—and certainly not the host’s fault. In fact, the disconnect added to the peaceful vibe. We have Verizon cell service, but here is an AT& T tower close so maybe that will work for someone else.
