Rancho Tranquillo was one of my favorite parts of Nicaragua. I cannot wait to come back! Such a great place, wonderful location, a slight walk out of town but I quite enjoyed it as well as being away from the bustle and noise of Moyogalpa. Tons of hammocks, clean and spacious property and dorms.
I was close to giving it a 9 or 10, but unfortunately no kitchen access was a bit of a miss. I think it would be a 9 with even a fridge, or a 10 with kitchen access, especially with the distance from town, it would be nice to cook a breakfast or dinner in the convenience of the accommodation.

This was 100% the best stay we have ever had in our lives!! We planned to stay for 3 nights and ended up staying 10. Daniela and Luboš/Tony are the friendliest, most hospitable, and genuine hosts you could ever imagine!
The room and bathroom are both big, the bed is comfortable and it is cleaned every day.
The food is absolutely delicious and we will be dreaming about it forever. Daniela cooks breakfast every morning and you simply have to try it, best breakfast of our lives! We looked forward to it every single day. Sometimes she also invites you for a good homecooked dinner and it never disappointed or she will surprise you with delicious bananabread! Also Luboš makes the best banana milkshakes.
The ranch itself it beautiful! They have a very big property with many places to chill and relax, they have many fruit trees (fresh avocado every day) and grow their own vegetables, plus they have many animals walking around the property minding their own business (chickens, turkey's, goose, guinea faws, horse and even a goat), so everything you will get is super fresh.
They also helped us rent a scooter for a really good price (cheaper than most places on the island) and it was hand delivered and picked up, so that was great. We also did the vulcano hike through them and it was arranged very well. It was just the two if us with Oscar, their caretaker (who is also a licensed guide) and they prepared everything for us that we could ever need during the hike.
Also their property is right across from the lake on the sunset side, so you only have to walk a few meters for a spectacular sunset!
One thing we noticed was that ob booking it said that it was sold out, however they mostly still have few places left, so you could always just come walking in and chances are they have a place for you.
We cannot stress enough how amazing the stay was, absolutely perfect and we would 1000% come back here! You should really stay here when you visit Ometepe.

I had a wonderful experience in this hostel, Daniela and Lubosh(Tony) make you feel amazing, her coffee is the best and the food is amazing, sunsets there are really nice! I loved the peace in this place!

Rancho Tranquillo is a beautiful place with the most accommodating hosts. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best it could possibly be.

The property is very beautiful with Adobe style.Surrounded with trees, plants, and flowers. There is a hammock , table, and chairs in front of the dorm where you can relax and chill. Even a clothe line to hang out clothes.
It is away from the busyness but not far of a walk from it too. The walk from the ferry or center is very pleasant . Literally just walking along the lake . Easy to find.
The lovely host couple Daniela and Ľuboš are super friendly. They made you feel like at home right the way. Daniela’s breakfast is super yummy. You got to try it when you are there.
Booked for 2 nights but ended up stay for 5 nights.
Almost forgot to mention that just a minute walk from the property to the lake. Beautiful sunset by the lake.

We absolutely loved staying at Rancho Tranquillo. It is right across the lake so you can enjoy swimming and the sunsets. Daniella & Tony are very welcoming and friendly. We had a very delicious breakfast made by Daniella. Their property is also so great, there are all types of animals running around and you can pick fresh mangoes from their mango tree. They were also kind enough to let us leave some of our luggage so that we could rent a scooter more easily and travel around the island.

I have had many accommodations on my trip in Central America, this accommodation was by far the best. The accommodation is a dream, many hammocks under palm trees, you can relax incredibly well. Everything is super clean. The localization is great to explore everything with the scooter, also Balgue on the other side of the island, in the evening you are rewarded with great sunsets at the property. Daniela and Toni are exceptional hosts, they create an incredibly family atmosphere, link all guests together. The breakfast they whip up is exceptional, try the portidge and the smothies. Daniela and Toni help with any query, very helpful. Best stay in Nicaragua and Ometepe!

This is a beautiful property with the kindest host. The room was large, bathroom alway clean and lovely hammock to relax in. The property was lovely and a great place to stay!
The location. If you have transport/bike etc. then you will have no problem however it is about a 30-40min walk to the wharf/town and you have to go into town for food, buses etc.

I’ve been traveling for 2 months in Central America and this was hands down the best hostel I’ve been to. The room was spacious and everyone had enough space for their bags, the outdoor space was gorgeous, from the landscape full of colorful plants and trees to hammocks and spacious outdoor tables for us to use. But mostly I cannot even explain how amazing the hosts were. Thank you so so soooo much Daniela and Tony for treating me and the other guests like family, I’ll never forget you!!!

The bespoke architectural design is outstanding, creating a calm and tranquil feeling from the moment of steping into the property.
A warm smile welcomed us by Daniella, with first care to put our bags down and cold water and then logistics, it made us feel like coming home.
I've never seen a farm so calming, the chicken, turkeys, goats, rabbits live a great life and contribute to the experience.
The room was a private building with a bathroom, one can take a shower and see the coconut trees and colorful parrets flying pass 💯

We cannot rate this place highly enough! The room was spacious, comfortable and had a very nice en suit bathroom. The gardens are beautifully kept with lots of different animals around. The property is remote enough to be quiet and tranquil but only a short journey to the small village for restaurants, moto rental, supermarkets, coffee and ATMs.
Best of all, Daniella and Tony are incredible hosts and will treat you like family. We have stayed in many places on our travels and not met better or more welcoming hosts! Daniella's breakfasts are not to be missed either!
Make sure you follow Daniella's clear directions, which she sent us in advance, as the road is not on Google maps.

Super chill, quiet location, surrounded by a lovingly-tended property with plants, flowers, animals and the most amazing sunsets from just outside the property gates. It’s not even a 15-minute walk from town/the ferry terminal, but it feels miles away. You can even take the kayak out and explore the shoreline. Loved watching all the Guinea Hens dutifully following their leader, the resident Turkey! There are no cooking facilities here but Daniela makes amazing breakfasts and dinners for quite reasonable rates. Thank you for all your help and kindness, Daniela and Tony (my cough is getting better but is still hanging around…Ug.). I really enjoyed my stay at your piece of paradise.

This is a great place in the middle of nature but still relatively close to Moyogalpa. Besides the beautiful location and nice clean room, it is the owners Tony and Daniella, who make it special. Great food, a positive atmosphere. Thank you very much for the great time.

Quiet place except the frogs are very loud during the whole night. Beautiful garden.
No kitchen. The kayak to use is very heavy to carry to the lake and if you don't find someone who helps you to carry it, you can't use it.
Check out is at 10.00 am and in case you would like to leave later there is no toilet to use.
In case you come by moto, the path was flooded, muddy and not easy to drive. There is no light at the path to the Rancha so bring a torch.

Lazing in the hammocks surrounded by a beautiful garden; hearing the sounds of nothing but the nearby waves and local wildlife, and being well and truly looked after by Daniela and Tony. A real paradise, yet it felt like a home from home.

Daniela and Tony are wonderful, so nice and kind, they really want to help. It was a pleasure to meet them ! Besides the hostel is beautiful, so many trees and animals just next to the lake. You really are in nature, it's amazing

I had a great experience staying at Rancho Tranquillo. The place is spacious, have a beautiful garden and the bedroom was nice and clean. A real pearl just outside the city centre of Moyogalpa. The breakfast was excellent - fruit, homemade marmalade & juice etc.. But best of all is the lovely couple running the place. Very helpful and warm people. Recommend!
