About this cabin rental

Nestled in Narrowsburg, this charming cabin for $600 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Welcome to Jay’s Big Sky, an elegant, spacious, home on the water. This property is the perfect place to rest by the lakeshore, hang and play with family, and explore the chic little town of Narrowsburg, which is just 2 minutes away by car. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. For winter fun, those of you who like to ski, the house is only 17 miles from Ski Big Bear, Masthope Mountain, which is a great local family resort with 18 trails, 7 lifts and 3 Magic Carpet lifts. With a large modern kitchen, dining for 10, and plentiful fireside seating, the main level offers expansive water views and a spacious gathering spot for family and friends. Also on this level are the three bedrooms and all three bathrooms. The principal bedroom has water views from the king size bed, its own seating and work area, and a private bathroom. A glass slider gives direct access to the deck. The second bedroom, with a queen size bed, also enjoys a lake view. Across the hall, the third bedroom faces south towards the apple trees, and is perfect for bird watching. Two additional bathrooms are on this floor; one with a shower/bathtub combo and a third which serves as a powder room for the common spaces. Downstairs is a dream entertainment space. Whatever you would like to do to relax is available. Table tennis/ping pong, darts, a pool table, and exercise equipment, can all be enjoyed as well as a large screen television, tons of lounging options, and perhaps most importantly, plenty of spare space for little ones to run around and play during those times when they can’t be outdoors. There’s even a quiet room off to the side where a squishy sofa begs for a good book or a nap. Outside, the lake takes center stage. At 27 acres but with less than 20 properties surrounding it, this quiet lake is a wildlife refuge, with plenty of eagles, falcons, fish and small furry creatures calling it home. A large lawn separates the deck from water's edge, and a shallow lead-in gives plenty of opportunity for safely cooling off in the water. The deck itself has loungers and a dining table, and is adjoined by a lower-level patio, with more seating and a hammock. A nearby fire pit is there for evening enjoyment. Narrowsburg offers boutiques, bars, restaurants and many summer festivals. Only two minutes away, it’s close enough for morning coffee, lazy lunches, and evening drinks. For the more adventurous, Narrowsburg is situated on the Delaware river, which is well known for tubing and the multitudes of wildlife. This is the perfect Sullivan County spot for family reunions, friendly get togethers, or even quiet couples time by the water. Guest will have access to the property in its entirety. Upstate Place is a property management company that provide 24/7 support for guests. Narrowsburg offers boutiques, bars, restaurants and many summer festivals. Notes for Guests staying in Spring and Summer: Spring Upstate (namely April, May and early June) is a very beautiful time to visit. As well as lovely humans, our little lake also sees the yearly return of geese from their migration south, with this area their chosen breeding site. Watching the baby goslings grow and learn to fly and swim is truly magical, the poop they leave on the lawn and the lake’s edge, less so. Please just be aware that this is a possibility and we have little to no control over it. Thankfully, the spring rains take care of washing it away, but we want you to know that you may be sharing the lake with literal snow birds. By summer, the birds have long gone. But the lake can sometimes have a new visitor, algae. We treat our immediate area organically with barley straw. The results vary year by year, with the temperature of the water playing a major part. Please use caution around the algae, and avoid touching it if you have any sensitivities. PET FRIENDLY This is a V.I.Pooch Pawperty! There is a $75 pet fee per stay and your furry friend can expect the following: • Dog bed • Bowls • Toys • Poop bags • Shampoo • First aid kit Upon booking, guests will be provided with a guidebook which will list all house rules, access information, wifi access, along with recommendations for the area.

We stayed in this beautiful home for 5 days and we couldn't have asked for anything more. The open floor concept with gorgeous views of the lake and Fall color, kids kayaked and fished right off the dock, the fire pit, hot tub, and course the game room downstairs - barely a need to leave the property. Close to a grocery, took a great trip to see Woodstock - overall really perfect experience. And pup friendly! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

I came here for a Mother’s Day weekend with my daughters and our dogs. If you are looking for a retreat that is close to town, this is the place to be. I would not hesitate to come back here. Very well kept and immaculate property. We had everything we needed for a wonderful family weekend.

We had a fantastic stay for a week at an insanely well stocked VRBO in an absolutely stunning respite. The house is ready for one person, a couple, family, etc with a really thoughtful attention to any of those scenarios. The kitchen has the gear, there are blankets, fans, dog toys, fuzzy and soft everything. The rec room was ready for pool, video games, ping pong, movie night for parents and kids in two separate rooms. A big long dining table with windows and many doors open, it felt like summer wasn’t ending at this house! We bird watched, we took kayaks out on a lake, there are very few houses on the water and the view is absolutely amazing. It was incredible peaceful, our dogs were so happy and thank you for a well spent week at one of our new favorite properties!

We enjoyed the property immensely. Well appointed and convenient to Narrowsburg’s shops, restaurants, coffee shops and market. Outdoor space was lovely for the pup, sunset wines and birding. Basement games were a bonus!

The perfect blend of outdoor fun and relaxation. The house is beautiful with a great open concept and high quality appliances & extras. The backyard has gorgeous views. We grilled and ate outside. It was "dinner and a show" as we watched a family of deer grazing nearby. We kayaked in the lake and enjoyed the ping-pong, pool table, darts and t.v. in the evening. We had an issue with the Central Air due to a Wifi problem and Sonya sent someone out to resolve it. We hiked at nearby Tusten Mountain Trail and swam at Skinners Falls. We rented kayaks with Lander's River Trips and took a 2 1/2 hour trip down the Delaware River. It was a wonderful family vacation. I highly recommend it.

My other half and I plus our Glen of Imaal, Owen, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jay's. The house is charming, well cared for, filled with light, comfortable and nicely furnished. Kitchen was equipped with every tool you might require, and the Master bed and bath were functional and stylish and offered a very good night's sleep. The pillows were great. The outside deck and sitting area off the deck were a plus for relaxing and viewing the peaceful lake and the plentiful wildlife - Canada Goose, the baby and Momma deer, and turtles - to name a few. The lightning bugs were amazing at night. We didn't take full advantage of the rec room downstairs, but it offered big entertainment value. Town is a short jaunt away and it is a fun, lively spot with good restaurants and all the residents were kind and welcoming. The area offers plenty to do. Hope to return next year and do a concert at Bethel Woods. Respectfully, Zeke/Amy
