The location was fantastic right in the centre of Helmsley. Great for a girls weekend. Good to have parking although not without its challenges. Spacious property. Clean and well equipped. Would recommend.
As the house is directly on the main street, there was a tendency for people walking past to stare through the living room window at us. Could be fixed by frosting the lower panes for privacy as it meant we had to keep the curtains shut which made the room darker than it needed to be. The access from the parking area and key box is a short walk down a side street of shops to the front of the house, with no rear access to the property from the parking. A little bit challenging carrying heavy baggage. We had to park round the back, pick up the key, drive round to the front, drop off the baggage then drive back round to park and walk back through the side street. It was fine, but I wonder if this could be communicated better on the instructions.

It was very central and the kitchen was well appointed.
We stayed during a heat wave which of course would have been uncomfortable anywhere, so I think maybe the provision of an electric fan or two would have been very much appreciated. They are not expensive and it would be a thoughtful addition to the facilities.
Also, I’ve never stayed anywhere where there are no complimentary toiletries in the bathroom- just a small touch but noticeable by their absence.
Finally - there was a small courtyard between all the properties - clearly the other properties had access to it but this property doesn’t and therefore has no outside space at all. This is such a shame and at any other time it wouldn’t have been an issue but in a heatwave, it was disappointing not to be able to make use of the space that the other properties could.

Right in the centre so location is great, it's very spacious downstairs and has private parking however it wasn't the easiest to find as the code to the padlock for the parking paddock didn't work so we didn't realise at first that was were we were supposed to park.
The curtains in the bedroom are quite thin so don't keep out the light very well. The dining room chairs are a bit flimsy.
