The whole experience of living with a Peruvian family for 2 nights was excellent. If you’re a fan of Race across the World, this is for you. Vivi, Juan and especially Erick were very accommodating. If you don’t speak Spanish or Quechua then I would recommend downloading Google Translate to make your experience better. We dressed as Peruvians, ventured to the Hot Springs and rode horses (this cost extra). If you go to the Colca Region to see the condors, you’ll need a taxi to see the condors I’d recommend Rafael his tel no is 51914931117. He talks English and he’s got an amusing chuckle and he loves to see the condors himself
The hotel opposite as they had an early start and they reversed their taxis with the warning sounds on at c6am

The room was so cozy and many blankets which is perfect for the cold during the night. Mama Viví and her husband were nice enough to make us breakfast so early in the morning because we had a tour early. They packed our breakfast for us and it was super delicious and great portion for both of us. They were so kind to share the table with us and tell a little bit of their love story and life.
It would’ve been better to have the bathroom in the room so I wouldn’t have to step out in the cold during the night but it wasn’t a huge deal.

On a tout aimé! C’était bien plus qu’un logement, c’était une expérience humaine. Côté pratique: c’est très charmant, propre, bien situé, la cuisine de Mama Viví est délicieuse. Côté humain: c’est incroyable! Juan et Vivi sont tellement généreux, ils sont de bons conseils, sont attentionnés. On se sent comme en famille (pour de vrai!). Nos enfants de 3 et 7 ans ne voulaient plus repartir et en parlent encore. Expérience inoubliable, merci merci merci !!!

Everything, we stayed three nights in Casa Mama Vivi. It is perfectly located for exploring the Colca Canyon with all its attractions. The host family is wonderful, carrying and they let you participate in their daily activities and are giving you all the tips and advice for visiting the Colca canyon. The lodge is close to the Acqua Thermales and chivay with lots of restaurants and attractions. Free parking is available. The lodge is rustic and authentic, but very clean. They serve you a tasteful and rich breakfast. Lunch and Dinner is available on request. They have dogs and alpacas, which was the major attraction for our kids. The beds are very comfortable and keep you warm during the cold nights in the Colca canyon.
