What we love:
- Located in the picturesque village of Tjornuvik. Short walk from the house to the beach. Gorgeous mountain view behind the house. Peaceful and quiet residential neighbourhood.
- Spacious house to accommodate our group of 8 adults.
- Front door parking space for 2 cars.
- Large deck overlooking the mountains (although we couldn’t use it due to windy and rainy conditions).
- Everything was clean and organized. The whole house was bright with lots of natural lights.
- Large entrance foyer for keeping outdoor shoes and jackets organized.
- Kitchen is well equipped with dinnerware, cooking utensils, small appliances and cleaning supplies.
- Good WiFi connection. Smart TV has popular streaming apps (need your own account login).
- Good communication from host detailing directions and check in procedures.
- In spite of its remote location, there are two supermarkets, Magn gas station and a restaurant (Number 1 Pizza) 20 minutes away in Oyrarbakki. Gas station serves hot foods like hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries which are convenient as a grab and go lunch.
There's nothing we didn't like, but here are some things that future guests may want to be aware of:
- Fridge doesn’t have a freezer compartment.
- Washing machine is a washer/dryer combo inside one of the bathrooms. We had to google search for operations manual. Drying time is very long compared to full-size dryers. Luckily there are lots of hangers available to hang our laundry for air-drying.
- Each of the 3 bedrooms has a loft which holds a single bed. A steep ladder leads up to the loft. Not a good idea to put young kids or elderly up there – which limits who can actually use that extra bed. The loft also gets quite warm and stuffy at night. The beds in the lofts were not made when we arrived. We had to put on the bedsheets, pillow & blanket covers ourselves – it’s quite challenging due to the narrow space and low headroom in the loft.
- One bathroom has a walk-in shower. The other one has a big bathtub with no curtains – beware of water splashing onto the floor.
- A traffic light with a digital countdown timer regulates the single, narrow one-lane section of the mountain road leading into Tjørnuvík. It may take up to 5 minutes’ wait at the traffic light.

La struttura è nuovissima e bellissima, accogliente, con tutti i comfort possibili. Dotata di tutti gli elettrodomestici possibili, è stata la nostra base d’appoggio per un fantastico viaggio alle Faroer!!
Imperdibile per chiunque voglia avere un luogo di super comfort dove tornare dopo le varie escursioni nell’isola.
