Enjoyed our stay at the gold mine cabin. Very quiet and easy to find! Didn’t spend much time at the place but it was in the perfect place to drive and see Custer state park and Mount Rushmore.

Was a wonderful stay. The only problem I had was Matt sent me the lockbox code but not the address. I reached out twice to him and got no reply. I had driven 2000 miles and was in panic mode. I had to reach out to VRBO twice to assist me. They tried as well and could not get in touch with Matt. I finally convinced them to locate the physical address…I was in Hermosa and had nowhere to stay. Was nerve racking to say the least. It was however very charming and was in a wonderful location.

The property was nicely located and had everything that we needed. Internet was from satellite so it was a bit slow, but we didn't stay there for the internet! Very beautiful country!

Have been to SD twice, exploring what there is to offer, love it by the way, wanted to travel through the badlands and found this place to stay a couple nights. Enjoyed greatly! Just husband wife and little barky dog, perfect size for us.

Very comfortable, wonderful cabin in a great location, near all the sights we planned on seeing! You HAVE to stop by the Hermosa coffee shop while you’re in town too. Matt was a great host with quick communication. We had no additional needs while we were there, they addressed them all!

Beautiful piece of properly with a cute well built cabin. Everything you need is supplied by the host. Nice big grill, picnic area, hammock and swing. My granddaughters loved it. Peaceful setting and convenient to all the amazing sites!

We stayed here for a base to spend time in the Custer State Park area. The property was quaint and private and had a nice area to relax in a hammock which my kids enjoyed a lot. It was clean and had everything that was needed.

This was our first time to South Dakota and it was absolutely beautiful!!! The cabin was absolutely delightful!!! It is a very quiet and peaceful! Extremely clean. The bed was so comfy. My 17 yr old daughter slept great on the pull out couch. I loved the tub to take my nightly bath. We grilled a lot. The covered porch is nice to sit on when it rains. The picnic table is perfect for meals outside. The cabin is like a 20 min drive from everything like Rapid City, Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore.....etc. It isn't difficult to find at all for it is very well marked. The Badlands take about an hour and half to get to. There is a cute mom and pop grocery store in the town of Hermosa which isn't far from cabin at all and a yummy pizza place just down the road that's open Wednesday to Sunday. It was the a blast of a trip and the cabin was perfect for the three of us. If you stay here, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!!!

The cabin was perfect for our stay. Close to all the sites we wanted to see, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore and so much more. The cabin was clean and neat. Everything we needed. Highly recommend this cabin.

I traveled from east Texas to Rapid City for my great nephew's first birthday party. It was a short, quick trip and was last minute. I found this little gem of a place and booked it even though it was kinda out of my way. I AM SO GLAD I DID! It was the best part of my trip. The area was absolutely perfect. I traveled with my toy schnauzer and I felt very safe and comfortable leaving her at the cabin all day while I was at the party. I have used VRBO for over 10 years and this cabin is probably in my top 5. I would book again in a heartbeat. Cabin was an easy drive to Rapid and and the scenic route to the big heads was even better. Perfect location, great sitting area, relaxing and peaceful. Overall A+++++++ Wish I could have stayed a week!! Great place the owners have created!

After camping for a few days in the Badlands, this cabin was a welcome amenity. Our cabin was clean and close in proximity to Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave & Mt. Rushmore.

Beautiful little cabin and the area was spectacular. We had a little issue had to reset water heater circuit breaker, then figure out the Water heater needed to be reset. The manager responded quickly. But other than that, the place was wonderful. Had everything we needed. We drove around the area, and it was spectacular. Would so have loved to stay several more days. So beautiful and worth the trip. Highly recommend this place.

We had a great time staying at the cabin. Excellent communication with the owner. Peaceful and quiet.
Some kitchen appliances like electric skillet and coffee maker was nice. Grill was a nice addition for foil packets on the grill. We drive from Indiana so some seasonings for cooking would be a nice addition.
The claw foot tub once you got the hang of it worked for a real quick shower but was only a handheld detachment shower head.
The futon worked nicely for our daughter.
Card games made for nice quiet evenings.
Nice location to go to Mt. Rushmore or Custer state park. We hiked multiple trails and explored the wildlife loop off the beaten path which was amazing.

We loved how quiet and peaceful this cabin was. It’s in an excellent location for accessing Custer State Park and not too far from Rapid City for food. Our only complaint was the claw foot tub didn’t have a place for the spraying to be held overhead so you couldn’t really take a normal shower. There’s a nice lounge area on the deck to sit and watch stars at night. Overall very happy with our experience and would recommend.

What a great place to stay with easy access to the Black Hills. Nice clean and quiet place. Really enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed. The TV streaming could be improved but since we were out and about all day it was not that big of a deal.

Gold Creek had everything we needed for our stay in the Black Hills. We went there to spend time outdoors hiking and biking so we really liked that it is not in the busiest areas of the hills. It was quiet and very comfortable but not a long drive from other places we wanted to go. Inside and outside, Gold Creek was unique and relaxing. Matt was great to work with as we arranged our stay.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The drive to the cabin was stunning and we always saw wildlife. The cabin was perfect for our stay. It was very clean and comfortable. The yard was perfect for our dog too. The owners were very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions I had. We decided to extend our stay one night and it was so easy to extend our stay with the owners. If we’re in the area again, we will definitely be staying in the same location. It highly recommend this cabin.

We went to the area so the riders in our group could participate in Sturgis and because the area offers so much more for the non-riders to do. The location was perfect, just outside of Custer State Park with access to many riding opportunities as well as hiking and playing at lakes and dinner in Custer. The cabin itself was charming, just as pictured and well taken care of and included at the necessities. The property is quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed relaxing out front on the deck while grilling our dinner. The location is pet friendly and that is important as it was hot and our old girls needed a good AC unit so they would be comfortable while we were away playing. I also enjoyed the soaking tub!

Our stay was fantastic! The cabin is in the foothills, it’s quiet and serene. We enjoyed our time outside as much as inside. You look out to the side, up a hillside that’s beautiful. We watched whitetail deer pass through one day. It looks just like the pictures, the bed is comfortable, and the owners have added touches to make the stay comfortable. We used the grill for steaks. You can cook breakfast if you want to with an electric skillet. The local grocery store is 12 minutes and a fantastic pizza place 9 minutes. The cabin is centrally located to everything you want to see in the area. Our pups came with us and had a blast on the property too. We did use Paw Patch Acres doggy daycare one day and it was great for the pups. Thank you so much for letting us stay!

This is a beautiful property with plenty of space and amenities along with wonderful places to just relax and enjoy the outdoors. Our host was wonderful to work with and we would certainly book here in the future.

A cozy cabin that was very comfortable for my wife and I when we took our vacation. It is located conveniently close to multiple parks, monuments, and attractions.
The cabin is very nice and comfortable with excellent amenities. It is very well maintained and was impeccably clean. The hosts were very nice and easy to communicate with.
We would highly reccomend this place to anyone and will definitely stay here again on a future trip.

Wonderful! Highly Recommend!
This property was very clean and well kept. It was the perfect size for our family, we have 2 small children. It has several outdoor sitting areas and an area for yard games. Our kids loved exploring outside. Great location and short distance to about anything a person could need. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Getaway Home
The Gold Creek Gold Miner Rustic Cabin was the perfect getaway for our tripod. The cabin was comfortable and there are lots of places to spread out outside. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and playing yard games in the upper yard. It is close to Custer State Park so you can drive through at different times of the day. And the cabin is close to all of the sights. We also enjoyed takeout from Linz Bros Pizza down the road & enjoying it at the cabin!

Beautiful Cabin!
This was the perfect cabin for our family (two adults and two boys (14 & 6)). The property was clean, new and overall very comfortable! We didn’t spend much time in the cabin, but enjoyed not being in the busier areas/tourist attractions when we were ready to rest. Every morning we saw different wildlife (deer and turkeys) and really enjoyed being 10 mins away from Custer State Park.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay! One thing to note there is there are a couple of other properties near by so this isn’t completely secluded, but is away from overly busy areas! The drive is also beautiful with the large hills!
