UNSAFE, UNINHABITABLE, AND A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK – DO NOT BOOK
The lock was right outside the property, but had to chase them to provide the code for the lock and asked four time if we could check in early, never got a reply.
Overall Experience: This property was completely uninhabitable. We arrived with three young children to find no heating and no hot water in 4°C weather. What followed was a series of management failures and the discovery of "negligent" safety hazards that put our family at risk.
1. The Heating Crisis & Management Failure-Despite contacting the property immediately, we were met with dismissive and incorrect information. Incompetence: We were given instructions for a thermostat that did not exist and told to "reset the boiler," which did nothing. At 8:30 pm, management essentially gave up, stating they could not help further until the morning.
The Night: No portable heaters or alternative arrangements were provided. All seven of us were forced to huddle in a single room, layering every thin duvet in the house and wearing our winter coats to sleep just to stay safe in the freezing temperatures.
2. Major Safety Hazard: Rusty Nails & Loose Railing-The most alarming issue was the staircase railing, which is physically detached from the wall.When used, the railing comes loose in your hand, exposing multiple large, rusty nails. For a family rental, this is a severe injury risk. With young children, the potential for puncture wounds, cuts, or a fall down the stairs is extremely high. This level of neglect is shocking.
3. Substandard Property Condition-Despite the host requiring a £500 damage deposit, the property itself is poorly maintained and does not match the advertised photos: Significant visible stains on the walls and carpets, The sofa has no cushioning left, making it unusable.
4. Warning: Payment & Protection Red Flags -Be extremely cautious: This property bypasses the secure Booking.com system by demanding payment via direct bank transfer. This leaves you with zero consumer protection.

Na boeken bij booking.com worden door bureau Key sleeps (lange lijst) met voorwaarden verstuurd en verzocht om directe betaling buiten booking.com om.
Hierna wordt om een garantiestelling van GBP 500,- gevraagd voor eventuele schade.
Huis is overal te vies om aan te raken.
Incompleet. (geen koffiezetapparaat, bestek, pannen. Wel drie glazen waarvan 1 kapot en 2 te goor etc.)
TV werkt niet.
IJskast werkt slecht. (omdat deze geheel is dichtgevroren)
‘Tuin’ grote bende (kan je zeker niet zitten) met dode vogel die er zo te zien al weken ligt)
Kan alleen 2 uur met parkeerschijf worden geparkeerd. Geen andere parkeergelegenheid in de buurt.
Vragen en klachten worden beantwoord met een “bedankje” en de “garantie” dat ze zullen verbeteren na het verblijf omdat ze ons niet wilden storen. (m.b.v. chat GTP)
Recencies zijn met enkele ongeloofwaardige 10-en verbeterd.
Dat dit door Booking.com wordt gefaciliteerd is echt een grote schande. Wel voor mij een les om NOOIT te betalen buiten Booking.com om.
