We stayed five nights here, which was apparently a big deal. Because we stayed so long, the staff really made us feel special. They knew to add extra pillows when they saw we were using side pillows. They made special meals on request for our son. The security guards told us about the local wildlife. Speaking of which, here’s if zebra came through to really make it special. Also a fantastic view of Kilimanjaro! I’d like to specially call out Jane the masseuse, Joan and Abel at the restaurant, our guide Baskon, and Patrick at the front desk for going above and beyond in their job duties. For those coming to safari, consider a longer stay at Sopa. You’ll see the same animals at Amboseli and Masai Mara but only see Kilimanjaro at Amboseli. We ended are stay with a lovely cake baked by the staff. They will make your African safari experience a magical one.

We really liked the hotel setup with the beautiful maintained garden, the nice pool and huts and the view of the Kilimanjaro from the restaurant terrace. We loved the restaurant. The food was great, with huge variety at the buffet, very nice and cozy outside dining on the terrace (where we enjoyed watching Zebras in the evening) and great, very attentive and super friendly staff. The location is great to discover Amboseli NP, the gate is just 20 minutes to get to.
Unfortunately the huts/rooms are outdated and could need some renovation. At check-in we got wrong information about restaurant times, no info regarding the possibility to have lunch in the park and no offers for any safari drives or other activities. If the staff at the reception were as friendly, motivated and well-trained as the restaurant staff this would have clearly been a 9+ review.

Views on mount Kilimanjaro, pool, fireplace, bar next to the restaurant. The hotel stuff was very nice and of great help. Our game ride with Backman

Great food, friendly staff. But main telephone unreachable in case of urgency
There are no telephone in the room, Mobile signal poor, can be critical in emergency situation. The road the facility is in inaccessible when it rains. Even on a 4x4 so beats the whole purpose if you can't access the hotel
