Moldy smell, dark, uncomfortable - avoid

The apartment had a strong moldy smell and felt almost like being in a basement. There was no natural light, unlike the photos. The kitchen had only the bare essentials, and the beds were uncomfortable with pillows as hard as stone. On top of the nightly rate, I was asked to pay a tourist tax twice—once at booking and then again by the owner—which felt unusual. Overall, a very disappointing stay. I would not recommend this place.

4 / 10

Good location/hardly any sleep due to outside noise and uncomfortable bed. Disappointing.

Good location close to main area

No sound proofing from outside noise people/vehicles and public services etc. there was also a broken drain cover in the road outside the window that made a loud noise (click clack)each time a vehicle passed by,the room was quiet dark not much natural light. The bed was really uncomfortable,2 towels each per person 1 small 1 larger for the week there was a washing machine but no proper drying facility shower cubicle was cramped and the drain cap easily came off and I cut my foot quite badly on the sharp plastic lugs underneath.

Good

The room was really nice with a kitchen and a bathroom. It was very, very clean. Close to the city center and the lake, 15 minutes from train station. The owner is easy to contact and very responsive. There were also fresh towels and all needed stuff in the kitchen.

The only disadvantage was that the room was really dark, the window was just above street level so probably that's why. Also another thing - it was not visible in the pictures as the room was specially staged for pictures, it had full lightning, different beddings and some accessories. On one hand I get it as the owner wants it to look nice, on the other hand as a guest I would like to receive exactly what is in the pictures shown on the booking.com When you saw a pictures here it looked like a sunny cosy room and them we arrived and it was so dark we had to turn lights on during the day and the pretty beddings was hidden in the shelves and we got other one which was not so elegant.

A perfect stay in Desenzano!

Great location, less than 5 minutes from the main amenities. Lovely and quiet. It’s a cool room which makes it great to refresh from a hot day, with fab facilities. It was just what we wanted! Great communication from the host. Thank you so much ☺️
