Swarn by Hawks Hotels Kamadhoo Baa Atoll

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our 14-day stay. The hotel was very clean and had a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. A special mention goes to the chef, who was very accommodating and prepared special meals for us on several occasions when we requested them. We genuinely appreciated the hospitality and personal attention from the team, and these were definitely the strongest parts of our stay.

Considering the hotel was quite expensive, there were several areas that did not meet our expectations. Although the hotel had a large menu of around four or five pages, most of the time only two or three dishes were actually available. There were also a lot of flies around the dining area, which personally made the environment feel unhygienic. One evening, the electricity went off for approximately four hours and there did not appear to be an adequate backup generator. As our room had no balcony or window that could be opened, it became extremely hot without air conditioning, to the point where we had to lie on the floor for some time. There was also no running water in the bathroom during this period. The room was advertised on Booking.com as soundproof, but in our experience it was not soundproof at all and we could clearly hear outside noise. The Wi-Fi was also advertised as high-speed, but it was extremely slow and at times felt similar to using an old 3G mobile connection. We understand that issues such as bad weather and unexpected power cuts can be outside the hotel's control. However, considering the price we paid, we expected better infrastructure, reliable basic facilities and advertised features that accurately reflected what was actually provided.

You know, I haven't had much privacy in the last twenty years and it was a really wonderful vacation for me.I had a great sleep, they have very comfortable beds.

Before that I wrote that the TV didn't work for the first two days, but who really needs a TV with such beautiful girls 😁

-amazing view sunrise over the ocean -evening activities like bbq, karaoke, candle light dinner at the beach -excursions to Hanifaru, other snorkeling, fishing etc Boat trips -very helpfull personnel that cater to your personal needs -safe for female solo travelers -breakfast is sufficient it is just a small island and have to import almost everything Special thanks to Ronnie, chef and personnel that helped me when I was severly sick for 2 days. They took so good care for me helping me get meds and prepare my food according to my dietary requirements. I also stayed at the Nest hotel for 2 nights and were so generous to upgrade me to a better room! Highly recommend!

Rooms were nice, well presented and spacious. Air con was good and beds very comfortable. Views amazing and just as per the photos. Staff were friendly and they do work very hard to try and please guests. Organised seaplane transfer for us. Great drinks. Reasonable prices.

Food was a big let down. Very limited choices which is expected on local island however despite me informing them in advance I was vegetarian they did not have many thinga on the menu. They then ran out of many more ingredients and said this was due to storms meaning deliveries were not received. However some of these things were on sale at local shop just around the corner so we felt they could have tried harder to accommodate. I also felt as though they just didn't want to cook a la carte sometimes. Also food did not measure up to other local guest house that we ate at, it just didnt taste as nice and presentation wasn't as good. Housekeeping came at different times each day making it hard to predict. One occasion I was left sitting soaking wet on stairs outside my room as we came back from snorkelling just as they were about to start cleaning it. This is not really acceptable. Behind the bathroom basin was filthy as was the chessboard in reception. Bathroom blind came off the wall in one room so we had to wait for it to be fixed. Blind in the other room was stuck meant I had to shower sitting down to avoid flashing people through the window. No printed invoice provided to confirm breakdown of seaplane tranafer charges and tourist taxes which we paid on arrival and no paperwork on check out either. Some pre arrival communications were a little confusing or blunt. I think they do a lot on trust and perhaps don't understand this is not how it is usually done. We decided not to do any excursions and we were glad as we had doubts about the safety. No life jackets provided on speedboat shuttle to and from seaplanes. We observed a guided snorkelling trip on house reef which appeared to be chaos with people clinging to rubber rings in rougher water and taken straight out to reef drop off. They soon came back thankfully! We were told that any snorkelling was done in deeper water so non swimmers could remain vertical and not touch corals.
