Casa Allergria's interior was charming exactly as described and pictured in the listing. At 8:30 p.m. the first evening a man drove by the garage within 50 feet from where I was standing looked directly at me POINTED A HAND GUN TOWARD THE SKY AND FIRED THREE SHOTS THEN SPED AWAY. My wife heard the gun shots from inside the house and ran to the back door to see if I was okay. If it had been just the two of us, we would have left right then. We had family coming and they were expected very soon. We didn't feel safe packing up the car in the dark so we decided to leave in the morning. Later that evening about 10:15 we heard more gun shots being fired just two or three blocks away. The morning we left I called the hostess about getting a refund for the remaining three nights. She reviewed security video and sound recordings but said our claims could not be proven. I called Vrbo and requested a refund, they talked to the hostess and agreed with her story and would not refund our money. Since returning home we have reached out to the hostess via text and email and she has totally ghosted us. Absolute silence. It is for these reasons that we give the hostess Bonnie Douglas and Vrbo the lowest rating we can. Families need to be warned against staying at this property.

Seems like a nice listing from the photos. We were excited to stay here. Showed up to a totally sketchy location. This is in a very dilapidated part of town. Trash was piled out front of the other homes. Left in a hurry after hearing gun shots.

The house is beautiful and met all of our needs. We did a family weekend trip and met up with our youngest daughter who came in from Alaska. The property was close to everything we wanted to do while in KC. Would definitely stay again.

The 10 of us were very comfortable in the house and enjoyed the proximity to Union Station, the zoo and of course Aerohead Stadium. Some extra folding chairs, to fit more people around the ample dining room table, and some more mixing bowls in the kitchen would be my suggestions for perfection!

Beautiful house

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Alegria. The multi-level house was perfect for the 3 generations of our family and our youngest kids liked the third floor room with the tv, games, and bean bags. The location was not too far from the Hy-Vee arena where my son was in a basketball tournament. We would definitely consider staying at this house again.
