The inn is historic and lives up to that title. I liked the inside decor and feel of the place. It was offseason so there were not a lot of other guests, which was fine with me. My room was small but it had everything I needed and the truth is I spent very little time there, just mainly sleeping. The one concern I had was the amount of ice in the parking lot and in front of the entrance. I had to be very careful in walking to and from my vehicle and almost slipped a couple of time. They really need to do a better job of dealing with the snow and ice. I had breakfast and it was very good pricewise as well and the taste and size of the portions. I will stay here again in the future.

Very friendly staff. We didn't realize it was so far from Aspen ski resort. I would recommend it to others, but not for a place to ski.

Honeymooned there in 1999 and have stayed there many times since moving back to CO in 1988. Nothing has changed, ie, the rooms, updates etc., except the service in both the hotel and the restaurant... Which continue to go downhill. Check in and check out... not welcoming. Restaurant, dinner and lunch, so surely. Sure, bonus to bring and pay $50 extra per pet, on top of $200 for the only pet rooms, but they are so aged, and we had to wash everything we brought into the room because it smelled so strong of the disinfectant. So, 25 years later, sadly , we feel we've given them enough chances and won't be back.

The historic property was great. Our only issue was with the pillows, which resulted in stiff/painful necks all around. nonetheless, we would recommend.

Our experience as a family with the Redstone Inn goes back to the 1980's when we would often drive up for Sunday dinner. I've also stayed at the Inn before and enjoyed myself immensely. This time I was joined by my two sons for our first family Christmas in over a decade. That alone would have made it wonderful, but there can be no more comfortable, warm, friendly and Christmas-y place in Colorado than the historic Redstone Inn!
We had Christmas Eve dinner in the dining room. The food was fantastic... I had the evening's special -- elk medallions in an amazing blueberry sauce, with potatoes au gratin and carrots. One of my sons had the Rib Eye steak and pronounced it perfectly cooked and delicious. We were looking forward to breakfast in The Grill but, we all overslept and didn't make the 10:30 cut-off time. The Grill would be open for lunch shortly, but we needed to check out and move on with our day.
Oh, we also enjoyed the most beautiful live dinner music on Christmas Eve. Piano and vocals were courtesy of John Rigger, a legendary valley musician who is also becoming world famous by teaching music teachers around the world how to teach jazz to children. Herbie Hancock has thanked him for that!

The Redstone Inn had an old world charm. We ate in the bar; very tasty bar food. The rooms and bathrooms are very small with no outlets for electronics. More of the old world charm. Great sitting room by the fire!

The room was nice though no microwave. That was frustrating as the kitchen was down for repairs and upgrades.

We were only staying over night one night after a concert in Snowmass. We didn’t check in until 11:30pm and they had a great process for late checkin. The hotel is very old but it’s HISTORIC old. It’s quite charming! We didn’t eat at the hotel or walk the property for what we needed it was clean and comfy.

This property has so much character-it’s like a step back in time -but in a good way.
The staff was very friendly, the bar and grill were awesome and our room -though small/was comfy with nice bedding and all that we needed.

Booked a family trip 2 adults, 2 older children. Booked way in advance. Arrived 5 hours early and was greeted with a smile and friendly service letting us know we couldn't check in till about 3-4pm but the pool and restaurant was available to us. We had some lunch and attended the art show and check in.
I'm clearly disappointed when they tell me our larger room we booked had been damaged by water and was not dried out yet. I feel the room they gave us was less quality, and smaller(not an upgrade). Our room was so hot(even with a box fan and small open window) We had read to keep the doors closed because of bats, which I understand, so no cross breeze to cool the room down. The hotel has clean bedding and towels, the pool was not cold and clean. Definitely the worst mattress I EVER SLEPT ON. Kept sliding into into the center of the mattress with my husband.
Cons: too uncomfortable to sleep because it was so hot and the mattress was very old and worn out. Wish they had upgraded our room since the one I booked was damaged by water.
Pros: clean, beautiful property, and friendly service.

With the castle closed, there is NOTHING to do in Redstone. The dining room is only open on weekends.

Redstone Inn is a beautiful historic inn located in one if the most gorgeous places that you could find! It is quiet and peaceful. Although we were there as a couple, we knew our children would have loved staying as well. We will be back!

We stayed in the Osgood Suite. Wonderful!! Historic furnishings were great and added the the historic inn. The only complaint would be the very small bathroom
But considering the historical nature of the room it was very understandable

The staff was great. It was built in 1902 so don't expect the amenities of a newer hotel but that's not what you stay in Redstone for. The setting is great.

This is a revitalized historic inn, with excellent food and service/staff. It is not located in Cabondale but in Redstone about 18 miles to the south. Note because of its historic nature the rooms and access details are not what you receive in a recently built hotel… for example no elevator or walk in shower.
4.0
Rooms are decent but dated and need extensive upgrading, especially to the bathrooms.
Bar/grill restaurant is surprisingly good, thanks to it being a local family run operation. Grounds are delightful with outdoor dining, pool, hottub, and lush tree surroundings. Parking is plentiful and free.
3.0
TV not working, Shower going hot then cold. Curtians tore up and thin.
