It's like stepping back in time, or visiting your grandparents house (if you're old like me). Have stayed at the Naples Hotel in Upstate NY and it's very similar in age. They're trying their hardest to renovate that time capsule, but they should take a trip to the Inn at Jim Thorpe and see what you have accomplished. Very impressed with the quality of workmanship put into the room and bathroom renovations in the room we were in and the thoughtful furnishings. Very quite Sunday night stay. No haunting occurred ;-). The second floor balcony seating and lighting at night are a fantastic touch. So glad the exterior structure has been maintained and can be used. The drinks and dinner we had at the on-site bar and restaurant were delicious. Glad we didn't wander town looking for something else. Wish we could stay longer. Would love to return.
