We were on our honeymoon and couldn't be happier with our stay. From the beautiful view of the ocean from our room to the amazing food we had! We had the best honeymoon thank you!

Overall very good place to stay . Spa just ok to good . Food good drinks were very good room could stand some updating . The tour for vacation club promises you much more than they deliver.

Nice place with great beach. Good golf courses and tennis courts. Close to the rainforest national park. I could stay here again.

Our second time vacationing here. We love that this resort never feels overcrowded. We can always find seats at the pool or beach. The staff is really nice and friendly. We appreciate the comfortable bands for swimming and room key. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with an omelet station and various pastries, fruit, oatmeal, local cuisine and waffles , something for everyone in the family! The tapas and food at the bar restaurant was are family’s favorite. My only two negatives are the prices at the restaurants are really high. And I paid for an “ocean view” but we ended up on the first floor looking right at the pool. I was told our room is technically called an ocean view, but we were disappointed.

I have a 4 year old autistic son. He's a very picky eater and will stim late at night before bed by hopping around making repetetive sounds. There was a chair that wasn't perfectly level and I tried my best to prevent my son from rocking it over and over by putting a pamphlet under it. I was expecting some kind of noise complaint as usual but the walls and floors must be solid enough as to not bother the other guests. My son absolutely LOVED the resort. I was initially apprehensive since it's a golf resort/casino but we were not left wanting with so many thing that were offered. The staff was also amazing.

I would not be complaining if it was a 3 star hotel but for a 5 star it was an absolute let down!
Positives
Really good beach and swimming pools. Service was good too. The room was spacious.
Negatives
Quite dated hotel but at least it was very clean.
Unfortunately overall I found the stay quite disappointing and it felt like a rip off. I paid 1300 USD for 2 nights but there were no robes or slippers in the room.
The towels provided seemed quiet thin and cheap. Not what you would expect from a 5star 650 USD a night hotel.
It turned out the parking has an additional cost of 25 USD if valet or 15 ISD if self parking per night.
150 USD were charged to my card for each night as a deposit which will be refunded in 2 weeks time. It is not clear why does it take so long for the refund?
Everything sold on the premises was quite overpriced
On Hotels website it is stated that the hotel had sauna and steam room, it turned out there is no sauna and the steam room was out of order.
Bed linen felt really good quality but there were stains on it.
There was no Netflix and all the movies were on demand and had an additional cost.

Don‘t expect quiteness and a relaxing atmosphere. The disco music at the pool area is very loud, on all day and is heard still very loudly in the rooms with your balcony door closed. Not what we thought of when booking this hotel near the ocean. Ruins the hope for recreation and peacefulnes.
We asked several times wether the volume of the music could be lowered but nothing changed.

This property is beautiful great service. The people are nice and willing to help with anything you need. The only thing that I did not like was not being able to pay with cash. Other than that it was amazing.

Great beach ( east and west), good range of amenities, lots of activities, friendly staff, good value
- Small exercise room, dogs in hallways, room(s) smelled of mold, mosquitoes / noseeums at dawn and dusk.
DON'T use onsite jet ski service. Dangerous (they let another passenger on drunk, didn't have emergency shut off keys), and guide spent time on shore recharging cell phone while we floated around aimlessly!

Hi, we have been staying at your resorts for over 12 yrs. You have mold problem in your rooms. We tried 3 different rooms and they all had the same problem.

This property is in a very inclusive, gated area, which was nice but also ended up being very expensive having to Uber anywhere outside of the property. We like to do laundry while staying at a hotel, so we can leave with clean clothes. This resort states that they have laundry facilities available, but doesn’t include that they are for margaritaville guests only, to which we found out too late. The women’s at Roots on the go are unbelievably rude, the wait time in between courses at Palio was ridiculous, especially when we were paying over 800$ for our check. Our room was serviced once in the week we stayed there, so be prepared for Sandy sheets and floors if you go to the beach. I talked with multiple people about our issues and how upset we were, they finally cleaned our room the day we were leaving and sent up fruit and champagne to our room after dinner. We donated that to a couple who looked like they were there on their honeymoon. Overall the area is beautiful, but be prepared for everything to be ridiculously expensive, rude employees, and any issues that arise, no one seems to care to fix. Not worth the amount of money we spent while here.

The resort was amazing…my kids love the pool and the water slide… it’s 10 min from Monserrate Beach that beach it’s beautiful…. I will definitely recommend its absolutely beautiful resort. A lot of the reviews I read before talk about mosquitos bites… that no will happen a less you seat outside in night time on the dark… it’s no mosquitos in the rooms o inside the resort. So no pay attention to that reviews.

Our room was in the Marbella Ocean View section of hotel and I’ve added photos of what the view is like from the balcony. Room overlooks the pool with ocean beyond.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Wyndham. The staff were friendly and helpful, gave good recommendations for places to eat and activities near or around the resort. We were there over New Years so the place was very busy with lots of people around, plenty of folks there just for NYE parties etc. This made the lobby area pretty loud at night. They have a restaurant in the lobby where they play live music; this can get loud.
Our room was quiet though and comfortable. Accommodations are a little dated and TVs are not smart-capable (ie no apps like Netflix). Hallway area had a weird smell but this may be due to people coming in and out of hotel fr pool/beach with wet shoes.
Food was decent; there are plenty of options from restaurant to bar food to on the go pickup to room service. The hotel is pretty isolated and you need to get a car or Uber/taxi to get anywhere. People looked at us funny when they saw us walking around but we would have rather been able to walk to local spots if possible. Security gate at entryway did make me feel more secure and comfortable in our decision to stay here.
Pool is nice; if you have kids they will love it. There are a few planned activities in or around the pool each day which are mostly kid-friendly. Overall we had a good time :)

Something for everyone here. My friend not complaint is that the rooms were humid even with the air con on. It was cool but still damp. Counter top’s and surfaces felt slightly damp at all times.

My husband and I had a great time. Loved the fact that the keys were bracelets ! Our stay was very relaxing. The room was clean and the resort had great and convenient amenities. Multiple restaurants on the resort, all bookable online.

We were there to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday. The staff made every effort to make this a special evening including a complimentary bottle of champagne delivered to our room with birthday cake. On New Years Eve, they had a great party throughout the entire facility along with fireworks at midnight. An amazing place that we will definitely visit again.

Great food and service. Restaurant had an overbooked and had us in breakfast area at Italian restaurant but ended up getting us back into the actual restaurant and took care of us on our tab as well. Really was the only negative.

loved the golf, tennis, pools, beach and proximity to the Yunque National Forest.

The rooms here are very dated and the food is way overpriced. Service at restaurants was generally good, though a little slow. We enjoyed our stay overall, and the people, beach and property are all nice, but because of the condition of the rooms I would say it is only worthwhile if you have a good deal and pay less than $400 per night. Wished we rented a car as well!

I expected better. A lot better for that price.
My room wasn’t properly cleaned (found hair in the bathtub), tv/remote not working (I work in Tech, so we are not talking about technical difficulty), and the furniture in the room had rust marks on them. The resort activities are amazing, but there’s a minimum bar that maybe my room specifically didn’t meet.

The Wyndham Grand Rio Mar is such a nice, family-friendly resort! We stayed there the week right before Christmas, and the resort was beautifully decorated. The location is great with access to the beach, there are multiple pools, and the rooms are quite comfortable. There are wonderful restaurants at the resort for different cuisines and price points. My favorite was Iguanas for a very special dinner, and Marbella for the impressive breakfast buffet. Service was very friendly and resort itself was clean and inviting. I loved that there was lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body gel out of dispensers. I wish the hotel did the same for hand soap instead of using bar soaps. I also wish there were places to recycle across the resort. Finally, we stayed there 5 nights and on one day, housekeeping completely missed our room, so that was not ideal. Outside of that, everything was excellent and I would recommend Wyndham Grand Rio Mar!

The overall stay is relaxing and comfortable. We stayed for 4 nights and the lobby area is nice. The resort breakfast menu was exactly same for all days which was bit surprising. Food options are limited within the resort and personally believe the cost is comparatively high. Rooms (ocean-view) are of regular type. However, the facility is very family friendly.

The stay was great overall, nice facility. Pretty. My only issue was with one of included exercise classes. I didn’t know where to go and I had to walk around to three people between front desk and spa and who didn’t know and one said there wasn’t a class. I did end up finding the instructor and was able to do the class. I also didn’t get my receipt emailed upon checkout, I texted a few days later and they sent it right away. Texting option is nice.

Stayed 3 days and while the resort outside was appealing the dining options could have been better. I do like the fact the resort was on the beach and the resort had multiple pools other than that it was really subpar. I’m kind of accept the attendant that checked me in didn’t ask if it was ok if my room was over the parking garage. It was irritating cars were in and out. Also what’s the issue with the grass being cut everyday of my say at 8am. That bugged me. Hotel was not crowded seemed a bit slow. Not to mention everything there was expensive. A piece of carrot cake was 19$ and there are no cash options. Card or bill to the room. Over all the stay was decent.

The staff was wonderful the carpet needs to be redone one the west wing had a bit of a smell … but hospitality and customer service was awesome

Grand Rio Mar has a wonderful property. The beach is beautiful and not crowded. The golf course was nice but we were a little disappointed that the 'ocean' course only had a single hole on the the ocean. We had a lot of fun at the casino and the bar. My only complaint about the property is that the rooms themselves are dated and could use a renovation. A simple improvement would be to add rugs to the rooms particularly in the living area under the coffee table to warm things up since the floor is all tile.

Went with my husband and a friend We enjoyed the pools (3 of them ) and the 5 o’clock somewhere pool bar
Drinks were reasonably priced ed and made very well. No scrimping on the alcohol which is what we like. We took advantage of the restaurants but mostly enjoyed Richie’s ( off resort But shuttle took us ) great food good prices and wonderful view of the city because it’s on top of mountain
The other restores iguanas. This was good too but about more expensive than the other. & dressier. I’m on vacation so I don’t mind d getting dressed up but no heels please
The resorts casino was small but fun but a bit lengthy on waiting for your drinks We rented a car thru enterprise which was in the resort and what we didn’t know was there is a $15 dollar a day tour charged for parking. Hummmm you rent their car and have to pay for their parking I didn’t think that was fair
All in all the room was great. Nice ocean view. Weather was great lWatch out for those “ no sees “bugs. They bite and itch like crazy. We went for the thanksgiving week Everyone was friendly. And no pushing on the timeshare thing. They pretty much left us alone when we said that we had been there and did that thru another company and took us 3yrs and ruined credit to get out of that was a relief that they left us alone to enjoy our vacation We didn’t go to the Italian restaurant because it was described as small plates We didn’t take the breakfast, it was $$ we’re not brkfst ppl anyway

Although the property was awesome! I was disappointed with the hidden fees such as resort fees and taxes. My family and I was surprised. We read the fine print prior to purchasing the tickets as well when we called the property we were not told that resort fee will be charged daily. The employees weren't upfront with us. Complimentary shuttle to and from the airport should have been offered. Food and beverages were pricey. Everything was charged even charging food and gifts to the room. The party open for outside guests that had reserved seats instead of guests who stayed there should have received first sitting. I think there should have been more complimentary things to do for adults and kids. As well food friendly restaurants. Finally it would have been nice if the golf carts could have been rented out to the guest since we were far out. Unfortunately. I will not be staying at Wyndham Resort because of the hidden fees we had to pay upfront and the overwhelming costs. When people are purchasing tickets for vacation, it's important to keep in mind people are on a budget.

Beautiful ambiance. Loved the time spent here. Wish the food was priced appropriately. Way too pricey for a family of 4.
