We had an enjoyable time in Barbados and sort of mixed views on the hotel. The positives are that the staff are quite friendly, the rooms are very comfortable with solid AC and a nice shower, the hotel is clean and has a nice pool. Finally, I felt the food was good enough for a few days. The breakfast buffet is simple but good enough. I think the negative was that the hotel sits right on the main road and can be a bit loud. Furthermore, the pool is facing the street, although it has some privacy. It is worth noting that when we were there the nice beach across the street had a serious algae problem which seems to affect that part of the island. Obviously this has nothing to do with the hotel, but it would have been good to know. I don't know if this is a seasonal issue or not so do your research. Luckily, there is a very nice beach 10 minutes down the road which is certainly worth visiting. So, at first we were a bit disappointed with our selection, but by the time we left we were satisfied and felt the price/benefit was good. Next time I might want to pay more to stay at a hotel on the beach, although I spoke with people who attended the same conference I did who stayed at the Wyndam and they have the same algae problem and paid more the 2x what I paid. Overall, Barbados has amazing beaches and the people are quite friendly, so I would give the hotel a good to solid rating.
