Location is really nice. The room is tidy but clean. Toilet water pressure could be a little issue but nice courtyard area and easy access across to the beach. It could be a bit too loud on the weekend since the street has lots going on. Nothing fancy. Simple and minimal yet very consistent. Small water bottles were provided. Small fridge in room. There is a Laundry room at hotel. Highly recommend.

A bit noisy but there was a surf competition going on. And in the flight path but I knew that. Cool town. Lots of nightlife

The location is fantastic, it's wonderful to be able to walk up and down Ocean Beach, you get free parking, and you're central enough that most San Diego destinations are a short drive away. You can tell that the owners put in a lot of care; the sheets are soft, everything is well maintained. It's a bit noisy (sound travels very easily), and the beds could be more comfortable, but overall had a great stay.

It’s pretty rundown, no heat in the rooms and it was very cold during our stay. The lights are very bright at night outside the windows, walls and door are not soundproof. The bathroom layout is terrible and there is no space to put any items on the bathroom counter.

The OB Hotel was a great place to stay. It was a clean pet-friendly hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had a nice area outside for pets. They were always cleaning shared spaces and our room was clean too. We were steps from the beach and minutes from Dog Beach!

The location on the beach is great. Didn't realize it is on the bar/restaurant strip to the south, so that's on us. Staff was perfunctorily friendly and helpful. The hotel is beat up - peeling paint, mold/mildew on lamp shades, foam mattresses. The photos on hotels.com do not accurately display the condition of the hotel. Certainly would not have paid this much for this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ocean Beach Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great. The courtyard was charming with a view of the ocean. My room was comfortable and nice. I would happily return to Ocean Beach Hotel.

Great place right on the beach. Have stayed there many times and never been disappointed. Had some trouble with the a/c fan not working, but it was resolved.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, including front desk, housekeeping, and grounds keepers. Pretty courtyard and we enjoyed a view of the ocean and bustling street. Overall, a pleasing deal for the price.

Excellent location. Check-in was easy and staff were friendly. It was comfortable for us as a couple, probably wouldn’t stay with our children due to very loud at night and small rooms. Many restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Fantastic location, but at a very noisy corner. I would call Ocean Beach "Seedy-chic". I loved watching the sunset from my room! The room was small but nice, but smelled very strongly of bleach, which I know means it's clean, BUT my dog and I could not stand the smell even with the sliding door open. Also, jets start flying over at about 6 am and it is LOUD. The walls are paper thin, and someone banged on my door twice during the night, so I did not sleep well, which is unusual for me. I would probably not stay here again.

Room was cramped and very warm. Front desk advised that A/C was “locked” and offered a small fan or instructed me to open window (which faces the open hallway). Hanging extension cords used, phone not working. Great location but our stay was now the best. I recommend management stay the night and experience your hotel .

I did like that we had an ocean view. The walls are very thin. We could hear everything that others visitors were doing and saying. It seemed like it could use some restoration. Overall it was a decent stay.

Our stay ended up being ok. But don’t be fooled by balcony & ocean view. You have to specifically book the suite with two queen beds to be in front of the water. We ended up having to pay an extra $130 to upgrade. Otherwise the room would’ve been way too small, not very clean & the first room they had us in opened without the key card. But once we got to the double queen suite right by the water we had a great time. Was spacious enough, great location & you just can’t beat sleeping next to the water.

This was my fourth time staying here and was given excellent service by the friendly front desk people and the housekeepers. All guests were respectful and quiet even the few dogs that were there !

Great location, lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance. Hotel staff is very nice huge plus the hotel has parking for guests at no extra charge which is rare.

No sound insulation. You can hear people in the corridor, cars in the street and, above all, airplanes flying past all the time. Very difficult to get to sleep.

Great staff. Right on the beach. Lots of shopping and restaurants within 2 blocks. My only issues were with the rooms. They were clean but cramped. Pedestal sink and no cabinetry in bathroom for essentials. Had to squeeze around the bed to get into the room. Gap in between door and casing, allowing us to hear everything our neighbors said while in the breezeway.

The hotel was nice than it appeared in photos. The courtyard is really nice and 2nd and 3rd floors have areas outside of the floor walk ups where there are tables looking directly across at the beach. Really very nice. The hotel is “locked” to anyone other than residents which is nice because there are homeless and people asking for money. They aren’t aggressive or pushy by any means but it is something to note. The location is just perfect. Walk to everything. The pier is closed indefinitely which was a bummer. My biggest complaint was the rooms have thin walls. You hear your neighbors up and down as well as people on the street. When I say thin walls I mean you can hear full conversations. Definitely was a stroke against the hotel since we had some late late (4-5am) party guests next to us. However, the place is clean, the owners are welcoming and there’s a nice little gift shop. I’d go back to this hotel but with full disclosure. I think the noise is also because there’s a huge window right next to the bed facing the courtyard/outdoors.

spent a few nights at this place as a part of a month long road trip. we have been here before many years ago. feel like alot of upgrading has been done obviously since the last time. be aware, this is right on the ocean and part of the Ocean Beach vib. Friday and Saturday nites were busy with partying and beach music. to be honest, even facing the street we really did not notice the noise level once we closed our patio door. it was a good place to make use of the laundry, courtyard and a glass of wine on the patio. I really like places with a large counter in the bathroom, you won't find one here but the bathroom is large and well appointed. bed is comfortable staff was very helpful as we made use of the microwave a few times. friendly.

Great location. There are tons of restaurants nearby. The hotel is old but clean. The room is very small. I was traveling alone and if my spouse had been with me it would have been tight quarters.
