This is an excellent family-owned hotel with fabulous decor just a 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal. It's location about 3 minutes from the main street means it's nice and quiet. There is a fabulous breakfast from 7:30 each day. The bar is open (on request) all the time, and someone on the desk 24 hours. The staff are very helpful, with excellent English.
Our room and bathroom were very clean. The air conditioner works well as does the shower. The towels were delightful.
There is a very nice garden at the back with plenty of tables and chairs and lots of places to sit in the shade. Breakfast can also be taken in the garden.
If you want the beach, the hotel will arrange pickup and van to take you to the Lido at Coral Beach to the north. It's a pebble beach. For the trip out and back for two people with sun chairs and umbrellas was 25 Euro.
We stayed for two nights. I'd have been happy here for two weeks.

This hotel is only a block off the main street (Via Vittorio Emmanuel) in Lipari. It was very easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the marina (either the port for the ferry or Marina Corta), which was our main reason for picking the hotel. The staff (with one exception) was extremely friendly and willing to help with our transportation and stay on the island. The breakfast was very good and more extensive than most European continental breakfasts. The rooms were adequate - nothing fancy. It was a great value for the money paid to have this location. As others have mentioned, there are antiques and other knickknacks all over the walls making it a very unique hotel.

Hotel Oriente was in a great location. Easy walk to the main street and both of the marinas. Friendly and helpful staff with a good breakfast. Lovely garden areas and so many museum pieces everywhere to look at. Would choose to stay again on our next visit to the beautiful island of Lipari.
