Let me start by saying that the place is impressive. I was looking forward to my stay after booking. The biggest issue: the room was hot. I struggled to fall asleep on the amazingly comfortable bed due to the room being so hot. I did lower the thermostat, but the room just never cooled off. There was also cobwebs in the bathroom....I want to go back and maybe request a different room.....I wanted to give a 3 star across the board, but the property was so impressive I just couldn't go that low....the lack of personal staff interaction was also annoying.

The Empress is in/near a very nice/cool/fun section of Main St. Good food. Solid galleries. At least two very interesting antique shops. Wonderful ice cream shop. The Community Bakery is very good for pastries, coffee, breakfast or lunch.
At the Empress James is a perfect host and took care of everything we needed. We would stay again if our travels take us back to Little Rock.

I absolutely loved how well-preserved this home was! Felt like we were staying in a Victorian house during that time. Highly recommend this experience!
