I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
My flight landed at midnight, and the hotel arranged a taxi pickup for me. The driver was perfectly on time. When I arrived at the hotel at 12:45 a.m., the gentleman at reception had all the documents ready for me to sign and greeted me with a smile.
The room was in perfect condition. The restaurant, which I used for both breakfast and lunch, was of very good quality. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful.
As I do not speak much Spanish, it was very convenient and guest-friendly that the hotel employees were able to communicate in English.
Housekeeping was excellent as well.
The bar lounge and pool on the top level are amazing. The presence of local residents visiting the pool and bar added greatly to the authentic local ambiance and overall experience.
Long story short: highly recommended. On my next stay in Santo Domingo, I will most certainly make a reservation at this hotel again.
