I have been a loyal guest of JW Marriott and visit the San Antonio property regularly. However, during my most recent stay, I was surprised to see that a large portion of the pool loungers now require an additional upgrade or reservation fee.
In the past, only the cabana area required an upgrade, which seemed fair and reasonable. This time, however, it appeared that nearly a third of the standard loungers in the common pool area were also reserved for upgraded guests.
Considering that room rates have already increased significantly, I found this change disappointing. One of the attractions of staying at a resort of this caliber is having access to its amenities without feeling that more and more areas are being restricted behind additional fees.
I have always enjoyed staying at this property and hope management will reconsider this policy, as it negatively impacts the overall guest experience.

Had a great time . Will definitely return. I do believe the food is over priced especially if you are traveling with kids. Other wise great property. The staff at the pool/ cabanas are great
