They need to learn english in the lobby - check-in was very bad to speak english. The restaurants was good at english. The Clublevel was very dissapointed, normally Sofietel has better Clublevel.

I recently spent an enchanting stay at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich, and overall, it was an unforgettable experience that combined luxury in an impressive manner. However, I must unfortunately mention an unfortunate episode at the pool area that affected my overall experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff, ensuring a smooth and quick check-in process. My room overlooking the city was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all modern conveniences. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel's facilities were impressive, especially the large, well-maintained pool and attentive staff. Unfortunately, my experience at the pool was not as pleasant as expected. I observed some guests behaving inappropriately by spitting directly into the water, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. I reported the incident to the staff, but it seemed like they did not take it seriously or take any action to address the issue. This unfortunate incident affected my enjoyment at the pool, and I no longer felt it was a comfortable place to spend time. I hope that the management will take this seriously and implement more proactive measures to ensure that all guests can enjoy the facilities without unpleasant incidents. Although this negative experience affected my overall rating, Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich still has the potential to be a fantastic place. The night shift hotel staff is total chaos, i do not recommend to stay in here if u are traveling with ur other half. My fiancee and i stayed here on jan 27 and 28 2024, we were asked impolitely that where are we heading, what is your room number or even request to show the room card when we were back to the hotel at night. I think they are treating us a thief. When i ask them what is the reason that they need to ask this kind of question every time when we r back, they reply it is house policy and it is necessary.

Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich is somewhat disappointing. Though the hotel boasts the magnificent decor and majestic lobby, we found it lacking in some ways. I had booked two rooms for a six-night stay in GZ and had emailed the hotel for the rooms to be side by side or at least on the same floor. No replies from the hotel. Upon check in, I requested for it but of cos they couldn’t accede. Rooms had a cigarette smell when we first walked in. Though check in was at 2pm and the hotel didn’t have our 2nd room ready and only managed to take the keys close to 6pm. After two nights, I tried to ask for a room which is on the same floor again and this time they gave me. So I took the keys and went to the 3rd room and was overwhelmed by the cigarette smell and quickly went back to return the keys and stayed put in our current rooms. The only positives so far are the breakfast buffet and a few very helpful staff, which was they saving grace. Really doubt I’ll be back here if I’m ever back in GZ.

Hotel room excellent…local area nothing much to do unless you take a taxi. To go to canton fair, the shuttle bus is comfortable but the traffic has become much heavier in Guangzhou than previous years…five minutes taxi to shopping malls…not much entertainment in the hotel if you wanna stay in during the evening…wifi very bad

It is in the CBD (Tianhe) and very conveniently located. Has a 24-hour fitness center, daytime hot tub and pool (remember the swim cap if you want to swim), and if you need an English-speaking staff you can always find one. Rooms are clean and serviced every day, nothing to complain about.

Sofitel is the go to hotel whenever I am celebrating a special occasion. Stayed at their sister hotel in Queenstown and Auckland last year when I went there to propose. Stayed with Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich to celebrate my wife's birthday. Wrote in to Sofitel and was attended by Fann who was the duty manager on the day when I was checking in and even greeted me. Fann went the extra mile to make it a special day for my wife by preparing a complimentary room upgrade, a birthday cake and a birthday card. Concierge, was fantastic too as they assisted me by helping me make a reservation at Morton's. Service was impeccable! They informed me that my package reached the hotel and offered to send it up. Not only that as a foreigner getting cab was not easy and I like that they are helpful to help guest get cabs. On the second day we had late dinner at 8, FAUBOURG BAR AND TERRACE. Someone reserved the place for a party, however the lady manager (a pity I didn't get her name) she made sure that we were made to feel very welcome and she took great care of us. The room was big, there was a number of international tv programs which was greatly appreciated. Definitely will come back here again if I am in Guangzhou!

We got upgrade to a suite because they do not have a non-smoking room which we requested. They even gave us a bottle wine and fruit basket as a welcome gift. The room , service , and food are all top notched. Hotel is centrally located. However Guangzhou is quite big, and we end up taking taxi most of the time which is not expensive. This is definitely one of the best hotel in Guangzhou, highly recommended.
