Pietermaai Boutique Hotel

Pros: Stayed 6 days/5 nights Fri-Weds. Hotel is on a one way street in the Pietermaii area and in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, bars, bakery and mini markets. Various staff members were helpful throughout our stay. I asked for birthday decorations in the room. From giving us a tour of our sleeping quarters, showing us how to open the keycode lock on our door, setting up a rental car and telling us where we should park once we received it. We stayed in the one bedroom suite which was very large. It was setup more of like a very large studio apartment. It had a sectional sofa, kitchen and dining area(no microwave) and an open air bathroom (not private/no doors). Windows were tricky to open, but we figured it out so the room could have some fresh air. Housekeeping came everyday to change towels, make the bed and even wash whatever dishes were in the sink. The room has a back door w/patio and stairs leading down to the pool area. That area was clean and has loungers. Cons: They didn’t follow up on my email conversation about the rental car prior to us arriving. They contacted the rental company and we got a car the next day as requested. Delivered to the hotel. 👍 Pool towels are for rent, air conditioner blows directly down on the bed, housekeeping can be a bit better. Not what I go on vacation for, but it’s obvious the floor hadn’t been swept. Minor maintenance needed for the loose back door handle and the shaky balaster ball at the top of the back staircase.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was not squeaky clean but clean enough. It is an older building so keep that in mind, things won’t be new and modern. I didn’t like that all the windows wouldn’t shut - meaning others could look inside and see me. However I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room and there wasn’t a lot of foot traffic outside. The key/door was also a bit tricky but they work which is the main thing. It’s very close to many restaurants/bars and in a walkable area. There is no designated hotel parking but street parking is readily available. Overall a cute older boutique hotel, would recommend if ultra cleanliness and modernity is not your top priority.

Clean room and kitchen. Great vibes. Interior design in the room was nice and cozy with a great view. The kitchen has just what you need to cook a good meal. Only thing missing is oil and salt, other than that everything was great! Street parking could be a hassle.

Staff was so very helpful and friendly.
