The room was lovely and the one member of staff I met very helpful. The air-conditioning was adequate. It was relatively easy to gain access without any staff present via mobile phone/email communication. The breakfast was not worth bothering with, pod coffee and croissants wrapped in plastic. Given the prices, I thought this was problematic.

The biggest problem with this property is that we booked it from the Expedia website listing as a Hotel. It is not a hotel. It is an air bnb. It should be listed on Vrbo, not Expedia. It is a perfectly fine air bnb type accommodation. However, if you are expecting a hotel with a staff to man a front desk, bell service, or an elevator, forget it. If one stays on the top floors, dragging one’s luggage up the stone steps is difficult. The air conditioning is not really adequate. If you want an air bnb, this is a fine choice. If you want a hotel look elsewhere. The Expedia listing for this property should be removed and placed on Vrbo.

We loved this historic and quirky hotel. The room and bath were spotless and comfortable, and the bed and linens were high-quality. We didn't like the stairs (there was no elevator), but it was only two floors. We had help with our bags at checkout. The location is perfect in a little alleyway connecting two main streets. We would stay here again.

Lovely hotel in a great location in the centre of Lucca. Bedrooms spotless and excellent size. Owner was very hospitable and friendly. Would definitely return.
