perfectly adequate place, bathroom/kitchen to guest ratio is far too low, and quite noisy. room was in need of renovation.

I appreciate I didn't pay a lot for my private cabin, but it had really seen better days with peeling paint and warped walls. Can be quite noisy if you're next to a communal block, so recommend earplugs. Bed was comfy and clean at least, so that's a plus. Parking is quite limited, so be mindful that if you leave the property to go on a day trip with your car you're very unlikely to have that spot again!

We stayed here for two nights during our trip to New Zealand and enjoyed this lodge. We didn't use any of the amenities offered, but the 'apartment' itself was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had most things we needed, like dishes for cooking and eating (but no baking sheets for the oven). It was a quick 8ish minute walk to the supermarket from here, and about the same to the downtown area. Lots of dining options around and very walkable. It was clean and reception was friendly and helpful. The view out our back window of the mountains was beautiful! We would stay here again.

I stayed 2 nights on two separate occasions throughout my stay. Parking was a little difficult but excellent walking distance to main shops. Other guests were quite loud on first stay.

Liked that it was within walking distance to the center of town.

This place is rad, and very affordable in a rather expensive city.
The front desk dude helped me book a tour to Milford Sound, check in was easy, I found good parking and my room had two super comfy beds and an incredible shower.
Bonus, there was a kettle with free coffee and tea.
Also, the location is astounding - right at the base of a beautiful mountain decked out in pine trees, and a 10 minute walk to town.

Awesome place for a night!

The worst place we have ever stayed.
Run down, takes basic to a new low. Dreadful bathroom, poor bedrooms.
Just awful and expensive.

Good location

A little dated, but room was clean. Only about 10-15 min stroll into the lively centre of town.
One piece of advice, the hotel wifi only seems to work if you have a 5g sim, not too good for us oldies 😒

Great little cabin in walking distance to town, free parking was nice during our stay and so was the hot water, towels, heater, and ironing board. There was also a mini fridge and kitchenette which was nice

Set up of the facility was fantastic. Great location.

Nice and quiet environment.

Great for someone who’s looking for a clean and comfortable place to rest but will be out all day. My only complaint was my room was next to the communal kitchen a large group of people would gather to make fish dinners and the stench would linger for hours after they were done. No ventilation in that area and would sometimes waft into my room

Great short stay

travelled in spring season, everything is good and nice except the freezer for forzen food in common cooking area was not cool enough to store frozen food.
But they do offer me store our food in their staff use freezer near reception but only can be accessed during reception working hours

Overprice Haddock go to the desk and ask for a towel. I had to make my own bed. There was no heat it was cold. The shower was broken and almost too hot to bear. No continental breakfast, as is common in most other places.

Quilts had stain and are very old and weird looking. We booked for 3 people room and the towels provided only for 2. The common kitchen was good.

Nice staff at reception but after that it went down hill. Freezing snow cold night. Door handle broken, heaters on full but pointless. All 5 others complained about cold and slept in clothes and 2 went got sleeping bags. I ended up leaving and didnt sleep there. Wasted my money which should be refunded. No money obviously spent on maintenance or improvement.

Well set up for relatively inexpensive access to the Queenstown experience.

We like it.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and it was with walking distance to the main strip within 10 minutes and you’re about five minutes from the bus line. Excellent location.

It was suitable for what I needed, the drive to our room from reception was on a dirt track on two tight bends and the corner of a building is dangerously close (hit by vehicles previously) a layer of road base would help, the room and the common areas were clean and maintained even though they are getting dated. Would stay again if I come back to Queenstown.

Good, nice and cheap

Overall good. They need to reduce shower pressure by changing mechanism. locks needs changes.

Absolutely amazing hostel

Reception was extremely friendly and helpful. Room is basic. Very dated but perfectly functional. Bunk beds with a short bottom bunk clearance so tall folk up top. Bathroom on the ground floor, rooms on the second. Kitchen is good.

Small apartments were amazing. Small dorms were clean and spacious. Needs more bike wash hoses if hosting large groups of mountain bikers though.

A great place to stay...only 8-10 min walk into the hussle and bussle of Queenstown. We had a 1 bed lodge which was fitted out well and very comfortable. 2 supermarkets close to walk to. Friendly helpful staff.

You get what you pay for. It was cheap in comparison, however the bins weren't emptied and the floor as dirty.

This 2 room suite was perfect for our stay in Queenstown. Very well equipped and great, quiet location. Mica was very helpful and friendly at check in too. Highly recommend!!!

For the younger generation. If you want a few comforts don’t book into shared accommodation. Booking into a chalet would be a totally different experience

I didn't stay on Tues 7 Feb, as it was a mix up with by booking back on 7 Jan when it looked looked like I was booking it for that night. I was wrong and did not get notification in time to do the actual booking

Wouldn’t stay again. The first room I got, had a toilet and shower that had a strong smell of urine! The staff was sweet and gave me another room, which was better. With that said, the new room had lamella based beds and the lamella were missing different places. The carpet was not vacuumed, there were old trash in the room, the window did not close, and there were several spiderwebs (I don’t mind spiderwebs, but it’s a part of cleaning to remove such webs in my opinion). In addition, very noisy at night.
Price and quality does not match - find another place to stay.

Pleasant stay, ensuites were fairly sized and lots of hot water. Room was spacious for a private double. Theres no air con or fan here however so be aware if you get hot warm easily.
The TV is very old too, not an active smart tv from our experience with it. Whilst in Queenstown though a TV is not needed!

The facility lacks basics that were inconsistent with property description. I knew it would include a shared shower and toilet. I was pissed to have only 2 showers for roughly 20 people and one of the two shut off while I had shampoo in my hair and shut off during my husband's shower as well. This place has terrible lighting which was problematic as we arrived around 22:00. It was so hot and muggy with no fan to circulate air.
The facility overall is very outdated which I ordinarily could care less about, but I wouldn't pay $30 to stay here let alone what I was charged. We stayed one night and then booked elsewhere, essentially ate the cost of the nights we did not stay. I have never done that before.

The Pinewood Lodge was very economical, cozy and a great location in Queenstown.

The hand basin was pathetically small and very difficult to use. The rest was great.

Proximity to the town centre.
