Visit Grundslee and the stay at the Mondi Hotel if you are looking for a quiet, scenic, and romantic getaway. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Susanne at
The front desk was particularly helpful and friendly. We stayed in one of the recently renovated rooms at the hotel. Get a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the lake. You won’t regret it. Hotel rooms a clean and spacious, even for our party of 4. The breakfast was included and was very, very good. They also have a pretty good restaurant. Again with great views of the lake.
On the downside, there isn’t very much for kids to do. There is a very, very small playground close to the lake but that’s about it. You can walk along the lake but the kids are over it in a couple of hours. The grounds could be challenging explore if you have mobility issues. Somewhat hilly. Grounds need a serious landscape redesign.
Great for couples but I would spend more than one day with young kids.

The staff were amazing as was eveything about this Hotel.
From the spectacular views to the walks surrounding it, it was amazing.
Our room / apartment was huge and spacious with a wrap around balcony.
If we had any criticisms it would be the pillows were slighty uncomfortable and that my wife did struggle with some food choices being Gluten and Dairy free (this seems to be the case throughtout Austria though).
But the food we all did have was fantastic.

Incredible setting - highly recommend getting a lakeview room. Great path for walking or running alongside the lake, I would suggest the path to the left along the road.
The pool and Spa were awesome, such a fantastic way to relax and enjoy time in the mountains. The pool is a little heavy on chlorine, but a wonderful setting. The spa has great sauna options and an area to sit back and relax. There was no exercise equipment, which would have been nice, but everything else was good.
Breakfast was included with the room and probably the best breakfast we had during our 10 day trip around Switzerland, Ausria and Germany. Highly recommend!!
