It is a beautiful place to stay. Perfect distance from the city. However, wish they had a phone in the rooms to be able to contact reception, kitchen or housekeeping for assistance with ordering food especially after a tiring day and just want to eat in or needing extra bathroom products like towels or toilet paper especially after hours. Also there were no options for washing to be done as we were sent down the laundry mat to complete our own washing. We had to keep walking up to reception to ask for simple things when a call by phone like many other hotels would suffice. Could do with a better band or just a young vibe during dinner time. Besides the things mentioned above. Amoa is a beautiful place to stay. If they can fix the little things it would be a great boost for their hospitality service and the best place to stay. Looking forward to seeing growth.

Our stay at Amoa Resort entailed a roller coaster of emotions. Upon arrival, we were rather peckish & thought we’d treat ourselves to a nibble from the restaurant. We got a pizza which had hairs buried so deep underneath the cheese it had nearly fossilised. If I was an archeologist, I would predict this hair to have been at least a year old. Disgusting. We then went back to our room to find our data access had been blocked. You had to pay $15 per head for access to their wifi. That is some evil knieval planning. The wifi we then bought was so slow it was like they got the modem out of a weetbix box. We then went to the pool to cool off. Unfortunately this was off the cards as the pool was warmer than a spa and it had so many dead bugs floating it, it looked like a spiders cereal bowl. Please do better.

Lovely resort with a great pool and grounds. Excellent air conditioning in each bungalow. They bent over backward to help us with our special requests.

It's a beautiful resort lovely setup but options of local drinks wasn't available even with all the fruits in Samoa they only offered banana tropical smoothie

I was a bit disappointed with my experience. I supposed I was expecting more than what I got. The food options were limited and to top it off a number of dishes were not available, and the food portions were small. Also, when I requested for towels, I was consistently questioned why I needed the number of towels I was asking for. This was a bit odd. Nevertheless, the property was cleaned and so were the rooms. Overall, this was an average experience, but it could have been so much more.

This resort has to be one of the best in terms of facilities and cleanliness. Food was ok but overall experience was amazing. Almost forgot they had a live band at night that was just icing on the cake💙

Very relaxing resort to holiday, staff very friendly and accommodating, shower was an absolute highlight

Classic tropical resort: gardens, coconut palms, pool and tranquil setting. Large rooms, with very comfortable beds. As throughout Samoa, very friendly and accommodating staff always happy to help. Found a flat tyre on my rental after driving the coast - I had barely got the spare out before three of the staff took over the job and had it changed.
Property shows some signs of wear in outdoor furniture and pool deck, but all quite normal for a tropical setting. And everything functional and fun. The disused pool bar seems forlorn...a relic of times past for all of us?

Staff and facilities were fantastic. We were glad we had a car. The beach is actually across the road and was usually a little choppy so we drove up north everyday for calmer waters. It was however a beautiful blue water and had a stunning sunrise. We would definitely recommend this property. Also had really good entertainment most nights at dinner. A really nice touch.

I spend enough time on Savai'i to consider myself a local, so take it from me when I say that Amoa Resort is the BEST of the resort-style accommodations available on the island. We had a delightful 2-night getaway and enjoyed the facilities, the air-conditioning, AND the 5-star restaurant. One of my favorite details was the (private) outdoor shower connected to our villa. There's something special about showering under a big open blue sky. Was disappointed that the pool was being 'serviced' during our stay so we weren't able to swim at all! Hopes that this could be done during nighttime hours when the pool is already closed in the future to prevent the disappointment for future guests!

Hotel is the best in Savaii. Hot water included. WIFI not included with room which was a downer. Air con was the best! Staff is very friendly and always helpful

The property is beautiful and location is great! Food was really good too but it took way too long to prepare every meal we ordered... it took 1/2 hour to 45mins after ordering food to get it which to Americans is unacceptable... the waitresses were nice but if you are going to work at a resort like this they have to have better social and communication skills... I prefer to speak English and the staff weren’t too sure of what I was asking for when I spoke to them...Staff or personnel is in great need of training for the hotel/restaurant industry.

Our group of 5 stayed in 2 rooms at the Amoa for 3 days in July 2018 and absolutely loved it. The rooms are huge and tastefully decorated and have a separate seating area inside each room as well as on an outside patio area. The rooms also have an outdoor rainhead shower which is a unique and tasteful touch. The resort only has about 12 rooms and they’re all detached bungalows arranged around the central pool area. The resort has a nice pool area but they’ve also developed the beach frontage across the road where you can use their kayaks (we saw a couple of turtles), snorkel (which is OK but not the best in Samoa), swim and jump off their wharf. Food was great and reasonably priced compared to similar places. We found the staff amazingly friendly – special shout-out to all the staff but especially Leti who remembered all our names from the first meeting and was happy to answer all our questions about everything Samoan.

Really beautiful spot with great snorkelling. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The little bungalows were charming and had an really cool outdoor shower. Overall a really great experience.

Staff, meals were great.
No Wifi was disappointing, especially for a 5star hotel.
TV reception Poor.
The Shower was outside, which is OK, but the door was broken.
Don’t think it deserves 5 star.
Booked through Expedia, Quoted in NZ$, but when checking out, charged in US$.
I showed booking that confirmed NZ$, but there was no way they would accept it.
Strongly suggest that room costs are firmed up early, or prepay.

This was an amazing hotel with friendly and accomodating staff. My family enjoyed the hospitality and the service provided. The facility was immaculate and the scenery breathtaking.

It’s such a beautiful place. Peaceful and traditional. If you want to get away from all the lights and glamour; to find a place where you can watch the sunset on a beautiful sandy beach setting......this is the place. The pool needs a little work though but who needs it when the resort has a private beach. As a matter of fact, I’m trying to extend right now!

Amoa Resort was wonderfully located, peaceful and comfortable and complemented by great staff who were always responsive to our requirements.
The only issue we had was that we decided to rent a car and asked the receptionist if she could organise it for us. She called a rental car company which advised the car would cost $130 (Samoan tala) and that we'd have to pay a $300.00 cash deposit directly to the rental company. In retrospect, this was the first red flag.
Sometime during our trip around Savai'i one of the car hubcaps came loose and became lost. We didn't notice this until we returned the car. As the young woman was preparing to return our deposit, the gentleman who had gone to check the car had been returned as it had been rented out began shouting angrily in Samoan. The woman then shouted at me that the "cap" was missing and that was when I noticed it was indeed missing. The woman then refused to return any of my deposit (I suspect she knew I didn't have time to argue as I had to catch the ferry back to Upolu). When I said that one plastic hubcap didn't cost $300.00 she said she would have to replace all four. As she explained this, the gentleman was putting his pinky finger into holes in the remaining hubcaps and pulling them off, making me think that these things must fall off all the time and that it might be a good way to allow the company to keep the deposit. A Samoan man later confirmed that this was probably a scam and that the hubcaps cost approx. $25.00

Amoa resort is quite possibly the best resort I have ever stayed in. The size makes it lovely and peaceful but it still has the facilities of a larger resort. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and we are already planning another return here. If you are going to Samoa make the effort to get to Savaii and get to this resort you will not regret it!

My wife and i just spent 5 days at the Amoa Resort and had one of the most enjoyable holidays i can recall.
The resort gardens are meticulously tended, the pool is clean & inviting.
The rooms are clean, spacious & well maintained.
Elizabeth and her staff treat you as friends rather than paying guests.Which makes the whole experience of staying here so much more than just a resort holiday.
Can't wait to visit again!

Amoa's appearance was very welcoming, warm and the reception open and spacious and clean, dining area impressive and so was the pool area. Lots of privacy and peaceful and the rooms were great, clean and loved the outdoor shower area. Everything about this resort impressed the three of us, the food was delicious and had no complaints whatsoever. What was amazing above all was the staff, from the time we arrived till we left they were always there to meet our needs and there smiling faces made it a pleasure staying there. The receptionist that first welcomed us was totally the star of the place, great presence about her, the smile and very genuine and made us feel special....Amoa should feel proud of a wonderful woman they have at the forefront as well as the rest of their staff.

Lovely stay for five nights, (family of four - two teenagers). Great place to relax and recharge. Elizabeth and her team were wonderful, very welcoming, and made us feel like part of the family. We enjoyed the pool - good size and depth. Fabulous food, a variety on the menu - Pacific/Italian inspired cuisine. The chef takes pride in sourcing local produce, and the Chef's Special varied each night. Newly renovated, rooms well presented. Beach just across the road.
