We did not enjoy Las Catalinas at all. It’s very fake. Its a property development from US tech investor applying silicon valley crowd funding model to develop pastureland along the coast into a artificial portofino or Cartagena, which will never actually happen.The road in was terrible and the property managers should have alerted us prior to arrival. There is a chance that on the road from Playa Hermosa to Las Catalinas that a seasonal rover will flow and prevent getting through altogether. This was only mentioned after arrival. There was so much security it felt very uncomfortable. We literally had security lurking in the shadows who only identified themselves after I questioned them. One slept outside of our porch all night. Ot felt like we were in a narco stronghold and that so much security indicated something was going to happen any second. The accommodations were beautiful, but entirely fake. Las Catalinas is not an actual town. Its like visiting The Venetian or Paris in Las Vegas except it felt uncomfortable when security just followed you around everywhere. We spent the night and left the next day eventhough we had a whole week booked. We never got a text or email from any of the property managers about where we were, if we were ok and why we left without checking out. I made the point of telling them we were going on a roadtrip and would return in one day, but they didnt even care.

Construction begins at 7 am next door and is constant all day!! I went to the front desk and requested an upgrade or to cancel. They didn’t even call respond. They don’t clean the room amenities are not included and I had to go four time just to get towels. For $300 a night this place is a disaster!!! I hated staying here would never return under any circumstances.

Enjoyed our stay in this excellent one bedroom condo in a beautiful complex. Very short walk to Beach Club, beach and all restaurants (ate at 4 during our stay). Fantastic service from all staff throughout the visit. Also enjoyed happy hour drinks with panoramic view at Sentido Norte.
