I have no idea how this place has positive reviews. It was awful! It reeked of cigarette smoke & was not clean, to top it off there was yelling & screaming half the night, then police showed up in the early hours of the morning. Walls & doors had dings where it looked liked they'd been punched in, bed linens had stains so we slept on top of the covers. Air con didn't work & the window wouldn't stay open, had to leave the door to our room open so we didn't cook. This place should not even be listed on hotels.com, disgusting!

Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage. Was very clean. Staff was very friendly. Only 1 issue was the mattress was to soft for me. Unfortunately it rained the whole weekend.

We were very comfortable at the Sunrise Motel. I was raised in the area so I know how long the Sunrise has been in business.it takes a lot of work to keep a motel in business. Ronie and Tony are exceptionally hard workers. Trying to keep everything running to accommodate their quests is hard work. We would gladly stay there again. The Sheets

Owners were very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the shower nice and hot. The pool was clean. Our room was good overall. There was no fan in the bathroom and most windows did not have a screen. There was a bit of a smoke smell that was not pleasing. The property could definitely use a facelift. A little TLC would go a long way. Would probably stay again.

It was clean and the owners were very friendly. If you're looking for a 4 star hotel-it's not, but we only stayed 1 night so it worked out well and the price was great. The pool looked nice but we didn't have time to try it out. The whole place needs remodeling but it was comfortable.

We are a 60-something couple looking to stay in the Saco area for 5 nights to be near family. We chose the Sunrise Motel for its low rates, thinking we would just sleep there and be with family most of the time, but the suite was so large, the owners so friendly, and the small swimming pool so inviting to our grandchildren that we spent most of our time on the grounds! Wonderful friendly hosts always available, always accommodating. Fun to talk to. 2-minute walk to Aquaboggan. 3-minute drive to Funtown and cinemas.15 minute drive to Old Orchard Beach. The bed was super comfortable, too. And kitchenette saved on food expense, although lots of good places for meals and ice cream in the area.

Tha grounds are well kept. My room was a one room efficiency with a queen bed. The room was clean and the shower was good and hot. The room was run down with an uncovered electrical box and switches that did nothing. The ceiling fan did not work and one of the lights was missing the cover. The paint on the walls was chipped and there were no pictures or decorating of any kind. The furniture was old and worn. If you are looling for style this may not be your place. I was on a business trip and needed a clean bed and a hot shower so this was fine. The owners were very friendly and accomodating. The price was excellent for this area. There is a pool but I did not see it due to heavy rain

Friendly staff and were able to get early check in which was very nice. Good proximity to Old Orchard Beach Older, dated property. Could use some sprucing up. No dish towels or paper towels in the kitchen. No hooks in the bathroom and the door did not shut ask the way.

Old building needs some paint and fixing up, but very clean overall. The hosts were very generous and upgraded us after having been double booked for the smaller room. We were delighted.

Looked clean, nice room, but had a slight cigarette odor. Wasn’t too bad for the price and everyone was very friendly. There was a nice pool that was also very clean and easy to access

This location is a typical turn key operation with minimal if any re-investment into the property. Grass was not cut, cigarette burns on the carpet and linoleum, and just about every piece of furniture looks like it was rescued from curbside or a thrift store. While no smoking is permitted in the room, there was a smoking table right outside the door of the duplex shared by the other occupants. Thanks fully no-one was renting that room or I'm sure we would have had to walk thru a wall of smoke to come and go to our room. There is a kitchenette for use, but no thanks considering the condition of the rest of the room. The baseboard heater in pieces on the floor. The saddest part is this place looked to be a great place to stay at one time and really has the potential to be a hidden gem. I would not stay here again.

Owners are super nice!! Exterior looks rundown but the insides were clean and exactly what we were looking for! Updating is happening slowly, but there are zero complaints!! Cost effective and excellent location. We beached ecery day and spent half of what other hotels were charging. Will stay here again of we end up anywhere near Saco, ME!!

Great stay! While this is an older hotel, it is still a great place to stay. It was extremely clean and the family at the desk, the owners, were wonderful! Very nice and helpful. The room was very spacious as well. There was a sitting area and a kitchen. I’d rather stay at a place like this owned by locals who take pride in their property rather than spending more money for a chain that may not care at all. I would definitely stay here again!

rooms could be refreshed and it would have been nice to have a tissue box and shampoo and coffee (at least in the lobby) for the price, but it was overall ok, quiet, super friendly staff!

It was decent. It’s a motel, though providing the necessities. It’s definitely outdated. Though it was clean and the property managers were very nice. I would probably stay there again

Great location near many shops, restaurants and a 10 minute drive to the beach. Quaint bungalow (very small) with parking directly in front of unit. The place was quiet and clean but can be very cold. Guessing it might get very hot in the summer also. Too expensive in my opinion for what you get, but overall the area seems to be overpriced.
