When we arrived they said the pool and hot tub were closed, that's way we came to swim. They checked and it opened a in little bit. The check in lady was not friendly at all. The rooms are fine, but beds are very firm, ice machine didnt work on our floor, breakfast was good lots to chose from.

The bathroom sink smelled a little like a sewer. The fan in the room was super loud. The coffee is horrible, but at least there is a Starbucks nearby.

Overall I liked the property. My main issue was that the place was incredibly loud with what looked like baseball teams and their families. We couldn't even use the hot tub after a really long day because the kids were running and screaming everywhere around the pool area....with not a single parent around or saying anything. The hallways were even loud during the evening.

Great place to stay. We had good parking for our Uhaul with trailer and it was quiet. Large room that was very clean. Continental breakfast was great. Did have a chlorine pool smell that permeates the whole building but overall it was great

The accommodations were great! Having the shuttle take my group to and from was a tremendous advantage. Breakfast was good and hot! The lobby tables were great for a group.

Check-in was a breeze and the desk attendant was super friendly. Drinks and snacks were available for purchase in the lobby. The parking was good and the hotel is located in a good neighborhood. The entire hotel is clean, especially the rooms. There was enough towels and rags for 4 of us to shower. The included soap was dove and smelled really good. Elevator was always available and in working condition. And the later check-out time was nice so didn't feel rushed the next morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Very walkable neighborhood to great restaurants. Shuttle drivers were amazing & took us to the Capital to catch buses to the Iowa State Fair! We will stay here again next year for the Fair!

It was a great stay for us. We only stayed two nights but for the price it was well worth it. Hotel was clean and the beds were comfy. The staff was accommodating and friendly. They use Dove products. No complaints and the location was pretty cool. Iowa cuisine sucks btw but hotel was great.

I want to start off by saying customer service in this facility is excellent. Both check-in and check out was met with friendly staff who went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcome. That being said, we didn’t even end up staying the night. There was a musty/moldy type smell in the room that gave me a headache right away. I took medicine for it and then left the room to go to the event we were in town for, but when we came back the smell was unbearable. My daughter said she felt like she was going to throw up from the smell and my headache came back right away. We had turned down the air conditioning before leaving and thought maybe it made the smell worse, so we cranked it back up and decided to go to the pool to get away for a little bit. However, when we got to the pool there was a cloudy film covering it that made it look dirty. You couldn’t see the bottom of the pool and when compared to the hot tub there was a vast difference. There was no way we were going in it. We headed back to the room and the mold smell was still incredibly strong so we decided to leave rather than trying to deal with it anymore. When I explained the situation to the staff at the front desk he assured me the Pool levels were balanced it was just missing a chemical to help take the cloudiness away. I still did not feel comfortable chancing it, and that combined with the rest of the experience did not make me feel like the facility was clean or without a mold/damp issue.

We had to switch rooms after getting checked into our original room when the fridge didn’t work and smelled awful then the room they put us in above us there was kids who just ran back-and-forth the whole time we were there

It was a nice place. Would recommend to others. I actually thought i had booked the other Holiday Inn by the hwy. I think that was a happy mistake. This was sort of off in an upcoming neighborhood but it was close and with less traffic. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the man at the front desk helped us figure out which items were gluten free. My only disappointment was the pool - it was very cold. The hot tub was not very warm either. Otherwise, a very nice place

While the room was ok overall the cleanliness of the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The shower had visible mold and the water pressure was horrible

Both the pool and hot tub were out of order. The ice machine on the third floor was out of order. It did not have a sign indicating so and the clerk did not advise that it was out of order too. The elevator was not clean and had a funky smell. The carpet in the hallway was stained. The room was clean but it was also runned down. The shower had a sliding door that felt like it was on gravel and it was not smooth. The tile was poorly repaired. The window coverings were frayed on the sides and were not black out. I could hear running and a dog barking until 2:00 AM. The maid service ladies seemed to have a language barrier and was unable to communicate with directly. The breakfast area was clean, and the food as expected, the banana was terribly bruised. The drinks were not labeled. Staff folded towels in the lobby.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. The room was spotless. Breakfast was plentiful. Lots of variety. The hotel is conveniently located. Just south of downtown. Walk to the Saturday farmers market. It was a very pleasant and we'd definitely stay here again.

Our stay was for four days. Everything was great. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was typical HI Express food. Coffee was good and food was hot. The only thing I would bring to their attention would be they need to address their landscaping. First impressions mean a lot. Would recommend.
