Good place to stay in downtown Kigali , the hotel is a bit old but it’s clean and the staff is great.

Although the room showed a bit of wear, it was very clean, had a great view, and the amenities were excellent (safe, slippers/bathrobe, tea and coffee in the room, bottled water, etc). The wifi was strong (the best I had in Rwanda) and the a/c worked well. The breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety.
Everyone that worked there was helpful and accommodating, especially the front desk and the breakfast crew (thank you!)
My only complaint is that the listing on Expedia says they have a free shuttle to/from the airport. The shuttle is only free from the airport to the hotel. You have to pay $20 from the hotel back to the airport.
Overall, great hotel in the heart of Kigali!

Pros: Great reception from the airport by hotel driver (Geoffrey night Driver), such a humble and respectful gentleman. Clean room & premises in general. Friendly and helpful staff from concierge especially (Nancy), reception and housekeeping (Valence).
Cons: Poor services at the bamboo restaurant. Ordered room service for breakfast at 9 am, had to make 4 follow up calls only to receive cold food some few minutes to 11am. I requested for salt from one restaurant staff, he never returned, so I ate my food with no salt.
The fridge in the room did not work the whole time I stayed in the hotel and the wifi was not working sometimes.

I loved my stay at the hotel. However, I would encourage them to work on the internet. As a foreigner, we depend on the internet for communication while we are away; however, the internet connection is so poor that it cannot sustain a WhatsApp call. Otherwise, everything was perfect, and I am looking forward to another trip

We had the best time at this hotel. Even though our flight was delayed by 2 hours, there was no delay at the airport and we got to the hotel safely. The check in process went very smoothly. We had a great view of the city on the 12th floor. The bed was pretty firm.

Traveller from the UK. Overall this hotel is clean and comfortable but in need of a lick of paint and some new decor. However the staff really make you feel welcome, and were friendly to talk to and a good source of information for where to go in Kigali. As an example of how great I found the staff I'd ike to mention 3 people in particular who made my stay a good one. Firstly the housekeeper Valen who cleaned my room everyday. He was very helpful and courteous. Nothing was a problem and the room was cleaned to a high standard. Secondly my friend who works in the restaurant Emmanuel ( Gisanura) who I had long chats with on his night shift about the culture in Rwanda in general, history of the region, and he gave me an excellent tip to visit the Richard Kandt museum which is walking distance form the hotel. This guy knows Rwandan history and culture and it was a pleasure to exchange information about our respective homes. His service in the bar was excellent. Thirdly I want to mention the driver Ernest who took me to Acajera National Park. This guy was able to answer all my questions about the country and was a good natured and enjoyable person to travel for 12 hours with. He did some serious driving, as he drove us there and back for 6 hours and also drove me around the park for 6 hrs (he knows the park very well,every twist and every pothole in the park was skillfully navigated).The Chinese food only menu in restaurant is very limiting. Breakfast variety could be better

Location in the middle of town is great. Hustle and bustle of a busy town is all around you. I was in Executive suite which was large. Bed was a little old and may need a new mattress. For such a big space there was one small fan. There is no air conditioner but one hardly needed that.

The 2000 Hotel is located in the city center of Kigali and so is convenient for shopping, walking and dining. The door staff were very friendly and willing to help find taxis etc. The wait staff was eager to help especially Shema who went above and beyond.

When I book hotels in new destinations, I personally like places that are independent operations, and have unique individual identities, that you will fondly remember. Hotel 2000 fits that profile wonderfully. And it’s located in the heart of a lot of activity, and is easy to see if you go out roaming. The building is aged, but they do a good job working with it, and the staff is very accommodating of a diverse global patronage. Overall, a good value experience for the price.

The staff were exceptional, they always went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. I enjoyed my stay here and I'd highly recommend staying here if you want a central location and a great experience!

The staff were especially helpful. Deborah, Alice, Patrick and Joseph were all very efficient and friendly. They even gave pointers on speaking Kinyarwanda and gave advice on how to navigate the city by foot. Very friendly and very helpful.

Be careful about your money. I booked on behalf of someone and they stole money from her room. I had the same complaint from another person I booked for last year. I only decided to write this review when I got the same complaint from a second person.
They need to pay more attention to this. I hate to have to worry about the safety of my clients money and property when they travel. Please treat this as urgent and fix immediately.

I'll start by saying that the service was terrible. The Rwandan Government has mandated quarantining in designated hotels for 24 hours (the price includes free breakfast lunch and dinner). However, we were made to pay for these meals. They won't even let us speak to the manager. I don't expect this in a 4 star hotel! Everything else was great, but the customer service was terrible. Never visiting here again.

This is ONE OF THE BEST hotels in ONE OF THE BEST cities on earth. The property itself is clean, modern, and comfortable, ideally situated in the city center and walking distance to cafes, restaurants and other attractions. But it’s the people that really make this place so special. The hospitality is superb. We stayed for five nights, and the team was so helpful at every turn. Shalom, Cynthia, the driver who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, the staff at breakfast, the reception team, and the housekeepers, all went out of their way to make us feel at home. We were a bit nervous because we went during the pandemic with quarantine and other restrictions, but they made us feel safe and comfortable. We are forever grateful for their hospitality and will remember their kindness for a very long time. Thank you!

I was transiting through Kigali with my family and booked 2000 Hotel Downtown Kigali. I paid for an executive suite simply because I wanted airport pick up included and to make sure my family and I had ample space to spend the night, but on getting to the hotel I was told that they had given out all their executive suites and we are now being put in a business twin room, even though we have made payments for the executive suite.
To make matters worse, the hotel asked that I pay for transportation to and from the airport even though these were included in the fees charged for the executive suite.
I had called the hotel before boarding my flight to Kigali and they not only confirmed my booking of the executive suite, but also confirmed that we will be picked up at the airport as part of the booking, which is stated clearly on the reservation.
The staff I met, Paterne was very rude and fraudulent to say the least and I strongly suggest you rethink having the hotel on your platform if they will treat guests like this! He didn't even care that I had 3 kids including an 8 month old all stressed out from the trip and needing a place to sleep at past midnight.
