I LIKE EVERYTHING, GOOD LOCATION, THE STAFF IS VERY KIND AND HELPFUL.

It was my second stay at this hostel and I purposely came back as I enjoyed my first stay. The location of the hostel is just great to discover Seoul. The rooms are quite modern though nothing has changed since I have been here 4 years ago. Rooms are though tiny and have no windows. The staff is kind. It doesnt really feel like a hostel though as you hardly see any other guests. So if you ate up for meeting new people this is not for you.

The location of this hostel was amazing. It was right in the middle of Myeongdong close to the subway station and all the stores.
I was staying in the four bed dorm which was nice and clean with very fast wifi.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy and smooth check in. Was kindly shown where everything in the room was or how ithings worked eg. Under floor heating. Simple breakfast of toast and cereal which was enough for me. The double room was very big, clean and well kept. Would recommend and stay here again.

Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. One of the best locations in Seoul. Walking out the door into the heart of downtown. We never needed to take a cab. Enjoyable breakfast nook and easy access to wifi. Small and cozy rooms. Beds were a little hard. We would gladly book again.

stayed on the second floor of the hostel, thanks for paying attention to my request - very sensitive to noises, a quiet room.... i must not be able to sleep on the first floor because of the noise outside... they gave me Rm 512, it was very quiet, although it's small....what can i say for the price? staff were friendly with smiles, would recommend the hostel to my friends. thank you so much!

The staff are generally friendly and helpful.
A big shoutout to Jeong who cooked delicious food and enjoys sharing it with the guests staying at Philstay! He also helped us with SAFEX service when we registered our luggages pretty late. Thank you Jeong for the excellent service!!

Very nice play to stay. The location is absolutely perfect, and despite the street below being very lively, there is no noise in the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast exceeded expectations. The only minus was that there was a smell (from the drains?) in the bathroom, but this wasn't really a problem. Having the AC on took care of it, and because of the temperature we kept the AC on whenever we were in the room.
Would recommend people stay here!

The hostel is amazing, with their location, room size. The staffs are very helpful, they can speck English, and Chinese as well.
They are very polite and kind, always very keen to help us out during our whole trip had gave us a great experience and memory for our first trip in Korea.

The location is excellent! Close to Limousine bus and train stations. You will never get hungry in this neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and food vendors. There are even 2 restaurants in the same building. Also, all the staff were friendly. The receptionist even gave each of us a face mask when we checked out.

Althought the room quit small, but it's comfort and cozy place to stay alone. The bathroom size also ok, not that narrow. The staff also friendly. Will stay again if i visit to Seoul next time.

We had a twin room that was small but enough to stay and sleep which is the only thing we wanted.
The rooms have floor heating as a nice bonus.
The staff was nice and helpful of finding a place for typically local Korean food for breakfast.
There is a lot of shopping just outside the hostel with the typical brand stores you find everywhere.
The subway is seconds away which makes it location perfect

We had a great 6 night stay here. Aiden, Host Moon, Lee, and the rest of the staff were all very welcoming, friendly and hospitable.
We arrived at the hotel early, and were allowed to leave our luggage in the foyer until time for check in. When we went back for check in, Aiden showed us to our room where he had already moved our luggage and continued to show us how to use the under floor heating in case we got cold.
Our stay was very pleasant aside from the fact that room walls are thin and we were woken by singing one morning from the neighbouring room at 5am. We had a family room with a window, which let in a draught making it a bit cold despite the floor heating. We requested an extra double duvet and were provided one promptly by housekeeping with no trouble - we were fine after that.
Breakfast was simple but enough, with offerings of bread, cereal, and pot noodles along with tea, coffee and juice.
It happened to be a member of our party's birthday and we wished to keep a birthday cake in the fridge until the next morning. Lee was very kind and he happily obliged.
When we offered both host Moon and Aiden a slice of birthday cake the next morning, host Moon unexpectedly and very generously gifted the birthday girl with a K-Pop album, making her very very happy!!
We recommend staying on the 5th floor if possible as it seems the 4th floor may be a bit noisier due to the common area.
Overall we would not hesitate to recommend Philstay Myeongdong station.

Great service, room cleanliness and convenient location! However the only downside is that the room was pretty tight for 2 people with 2 medium sized luggages. There was a hollow pillar in the middle of the room taking up a lot of space, such that when the luggages opened there wasnt much room to walk. Other than the space everything else was good.

Location: great location in the middle of Myeongdong. It is a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Step outside and you’re in the middle of it all. There is a yummy fried chicken and beer place in the same building.
Service: We arrived really early but since they had a room ready they let us check in which was much appreciated. They also speak English and were helpful.
Room: The room was clean and modern. It looks new. The rooms are small by American standards. It is the size of the 2 beds with enough room for 1 person to walk. So if one person is getting ready the other person would sit on the bed.
The shower is over the sink and handheld only so when I need to shampoo my hair I would have to put the shower head back on the holder and turn off the water, otherwise I get shower spraying on my face and not over my head.
The towels are not the size of bath towels but the size of gym towels.
No daily housekeeping, you just clean up after yourself.
Free breakfast is toast, yogurt cereal and instant ramen. This is perfect for us because we don’t normally eat breakfast anyways.
We came here knowing it’s a hostel B&B, not a hotel. The standards are a little different from western accommodations and I don’t hold them to western standards. If you need eggs bacon and toast for breakfast don’t come here cuz all you get is toast.
With this in mind and with our expectations in check I would recommend.

We got there just over an overnight from Soeraksan on our way back to Ulsan. Got there after 11pm. The key waited for us on the desk - no problem. Other tenants also arrived late but without announcing. The guy on duty woke up, did not complain, helped them. Got up early in the morning, the staff was already there and were very nice. Myongdong is also a got area, very close to Seoul station and Namdeamon.

Family room with 2 double beds with toiletries provided. Breakfast of fresh bread, cereal, juice, yoghurt, coffee and cup ramen is included. We even used the free laundry service. The only negative is that there's very little space for our big luggage but there was space under the beds for cabin luggage.

Overall i had a pleasant experience as i was upgraded to a family room
So it was worth the stay
However, the room i was assigned the wifi doesnt have internet connection
That's the only thing i can say negative about my stay.
