Great property with an "ok" service. Housekeeping did not show up one day. At the next day, housekeeping did not clean the bathroom and did not leave clean towels.

Nice hotel with beautiful view, and all commodities. The only thing is the restaurant service need a lot of improvement and people skills.

This is a great boutique property. The manager Karen was awesome. Made sure you had everything you needed and was just like having a friend around. She would talk to the all the guests daily and was always close by. Great location on the quiet side of the island.

I grew up literally next door. This property was my playground back in the day.

Service is key when I stay at a property; however, some things just overshadow the service. As much as I want to give a great review because of the communication before and during the stay, I just can’t. For the price point the conditions of the property were not adequate.
The older lady that oversaw the bar, had a negative attitude towards the staff that was visible to guest, a lot of the food options were not available for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the WiFi in the room was not reliable, there were tree roaches on the floor, the shower head was soiled, there was a placard in the bathroom that indicated if we wanted fresh towels to place them in the floor. We placed the towels in the floor and never received any fresh towels. We were given beach towels hours after our initial ask. The beach towel actually looked like a towel they mopped the floor with since it was stained with a rust color and black spots.
The only thing that seemed cleaned or well maintained was the ocean, the sand in front of the beach chairs, shout out to the young man that racked the sand, our sweet waiter from St. Kitts with gorgeous faux locs, Delia, the pool + hot tub and the service provided by VI Exotic Watersports.
Whoever has primary responsibility of this property, something has to be done. The staff is great, but it just seemed as if they aren’t valued. Also, to management, for the Holidays to happen every year, why were you not prepared?

People were very nice.

We didn't receive our welcome gifts and customer service varied depending on who was working. Our room never got replenished with towels even though we requested new towels twice.
Paid for VIP private event only for everyone to receive the same benefits for free.
Pool and hot tub were the best part of the trip. Overrated resort.

I enjoyed my stay at the Fred. I stayed for 7days / 6 nights. Its less than a 20 min drive from the airport. It is a boutique beachfront property. Intimate, great staff and conveniently located near the Fredericksted Pier (less than 5 min walk). The pool and hot tub are excellent. There is occasional live entertainment at the hotel ( DJs, Band, Fire Dancers) check website for schedule. The food at the restaurant is very good, although at times they were out of popular items on the menu. There are additional food items next door and at the pier. There is also a corner/grocery store to pick up small items like drinks, snacks, etc.
You can walk the beach for almost a mile, leading towards the next beachfront property. Lots of shells. It is a rockier beach so water shoes are suggested. Water is beautiful and clear. I even saw sea turtles when walking the beach.
Delia the front desk manager is amazing. Kind, courteous and responsive. I love the text feature which allows you to stay in contact and address any of yoyr needs like transportation, spa services, etc.
Super cute boutique gift shop. Lots of options for clothing, jewelry etc.
Danny is the best Bar Tender. Friendly, knowledgeable about the island and great service.
The facility overall is nice. Rooms are as pictured. Bathroom very spacious. Sometimes an issue with water(yellow) due to pipes but that happens throughout the island at times.
Overall I would recommend a stay at the Fred and will be back soon.

Spent my girlfriends birthday at the Fred. The hotel is nice and the staff was pleasant. The food is really good; we indulged in the jerk chicken & fries, the steak & eggs, the Thai chili wings were exceptional, the shrimp Caesar salad was very tasteful.
The surrounding area has a lot of homeless people and abandoned buildings. My girlfriend didn’t feel safe walking around the neighborhood.
All the shops are in walking distance and the people are very kind. The local restaurants food is great as well.

From the front desk and beyond, The Fred created a warm and inviting vacation atmosphere. It was such a pleasant stay. We look forward to returning in the future.

The host (we think it’s Crystal) was nice and was kind to answer our questions. The bartender girl was not nice at all and obviously did not want to serve us. We knew she acknowledged us because she looked at us quite a few times. It seems she was more interested in serving the locals than any of the guests staying there. It took some other staff members to tell her that we were waiting on her. The rest of the staff was okay but you are definitely not going to get a high level of service here. We ate the restaurant twice, first meals was over cooked and my husbands chicken was undercooked. Next meal, I found plastic in my baked Mac and cheese and my brisket was cold. My husbands meal was very hot as his pesto pasta was swimming in oil. The waiter did comp my meal but did not offer to bring me a new meal. The room was nice but could use a little love. The pool and hot tub was closed. The hotel did give us a proactive hotel credit because of the pool and hot tub closure when we arrived. The surrounding area was not to be desirable. In fact we did not feel very safe after we were woken up at 4am to some stranger knocking on our door. We believe it was a guest but we didn’t open the door to find out. The power went out on the second day for a few hours. Overall it was one thing after one thing after another we decided to leave early and stay in a hotel that has way better experience and much better customer service.

The place was dirty and they never had clean towels. Expedia you should be ashamed, totally misrepresented. I will never ever use your service again, you are a disgrace to the travel industry

The room had amazing views of the sea. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

THE Fred is an excellent property with its own Vibe. Good atmosphere to relax & rest and live the Island time literally. Steps from the water, close to everything in Fredericksted and just minutes to the airport. Would return and recommend.

Great location by the town and snorkeling, a charming building, but a very specific vibe here. It’s kind of a bar/club with rooms attached to it. Not our scene, but probably has its fans.
Stay here if you like: drinking, laying by the pool, listening to loud music until 10:00 pm (three specific genres: yacht rock, bob marley, and bro country. So much bro country), sitting at a big bar that’s outside.
Don’t stay here if you want to: sit at the pool listening to the wind and waves, be in your room with the windows open (or closed) without hearing the 3-genre playlist, experience st. Croix culture and the local flavor.
I do think their formula works, as it was quite busy and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Just be warned if you’re like us and thinking it’s a charming little cluster of cottages in a sleepy little town. Everything about the rooms and the experience is designed to make you wanna par-tay! (Also a weird sex vibe here- burlesque-y art in the rooms, sex toys in the gift shop, and tongue-in-cheek references abound. I’m not a prude, it’s just kinda weird)
As others have mentioned, some basics are lacking as well. Over our five nights, we had issues with our a/c and no water for a night. They offered to comp us (we didn’t even ask) but then never did. Similar to another review, as we were walking out, they again mentioned their intention to give us a voucher for the bar. Nice timing for their bottom line, but didn’t do much to win our hearts.

The property was cool. Beautiful sunset, great bar on the beach and near the pool. The room was cool as well, very eclectic. I was in St. Croix for business, my review would probably have been better if I were on vacation. My room which is probably the cheapest room they have at $215 per night was very noisy. The windows of the room were facing a community balcony. So you could see shadows through the drapes of people on the balcony. You could hear people talking and popping champagne bottles. At check in they had said the hotel had a "no" noise policy that started at 10:00 pm and yes the noise stopped around 10:00 pm. Also the windows faced the street and so you would hear loud music from the cars passing by throughout the night. The hot water in the shower never got hot, luke warm yes. Food at the bar was good but not great. Staff was friendly but not overly helpful. Check-in was good. Overall it was good but not great.

The property was beautiful. Updated room overlooking the beach, beautiful pool, and lovely hot tub. The beach was SMALL, I guess due to the recent hurricanes, so that can’t be helped. But there is NOTHING to do on this side of the island outside of the hotel. We counted 3 restaurants and NO shops at all, not counting the restaurant or small shop on the property itself. I would recommend staying here if you plan to stay at the hotel for the entire stay. If you plan to explore the island, get a car because car fare is quite expensive, and you’re far, far away from everything there is to do.

Really loved the set up if rooms, the beach front, and the front desk staff. Delia you know you my girl! She made The Fred like home with family and friends. Disnt like there were no dressers or storage in room we had to live out of our suite case for 5 days.

Not the greatest value on the island but decent overall.

We enjoyed our weekend stay. Having never visited STX before a friend suggested The Fred. It is charming and well located. Staff was friendly and helped us with a couple of issues ASAP. Water front and easy parking. I would definitely visit again.

The area around the property isn't great, but then Frederiksted isn't in great shape. The biggest problem with the room is the water never got beyond warm in the shower.

The US Virgin Island St Croix kinda sucks..it's frankly depressing the people are fat dumb and lazy not showing up to work and it reflects poorly on some of theamazing people like Karen, Shinque and Sharon. The Fred is really an amazing property for the area which I would campare to the South side of Chicago. The water is beautiful, the pool is perfect and the hot tub was amazing all very clean. We had 4201 the largest suite and the bed was perfect the room was huge as was the shower and a great room for a lot of sex. Drinks were overpriced and food was terrible with the exception of breakfast which was amazing and they just hired a new Chef before we left the property. In closing, soo. Many people lack class playing their phones by the pool area and a disgusting 500 pound Mamba Jamba with a G string taking selfies at the hottub with all sorts of stuff sticking out... We never returned to that hot tub. The island lacks everything but it's an example of what is happening in the US as they have free healthcare and essentially disability or unemployment for life so nobody works, services are terrible, you cannot get a cab, their cars are all flood cars from Hurricanes and are not safe to drive. Their food is all largely spoiled except what's immediately fresh from the Ocean.. there are no farms for amazing produce and fruit. It's an education in Socialism for all of you that like it so much and ignore Economic Science. I would like to see the Fred become a nude destination.

What I liked about the room was its set up. What I didn't like about the room it was not clean properly and the shower still had hair in it from the previous person that was a absolute turn off and my room didn't have a microwave..The bed sheets had a stain like a food stain well i would hope it was..Lamp shade was a lil old and rusty..

Had an okay time, over priced for what it is. It’s not an adults only, as they allow locals to purchase day passes and they bring their children. The pool was over crowded with locals, their kids would go from beach to pool. Hotel was clean and room was nice although there were multiple roaches in the room.

The view was beautiful and very pleasant environment. Everybody there was friendly and welcoming.
