The hotel was very clean, friendly staff and food was good.

The place is a solid 4. Our room doesn’t have a view and face the west sun, I think you should choose a different facing one. If you want to see more of Cabo, consider renting a car at airport. The transfer takes a long time and I got car sick on the big bus. Do your research and book activities early. The best dinner spot is Krystal.

We requested for double but the request did not go through at check-in -which required extra time to coordinate. The rest went excellent!

We came to Riu on our honeymoon and had an absolute blast. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed and huge shower and bath. The mini bar was stocked wonderfully. The Santa Fe is right next door and if you are on the side facing it then you will hear the Riu Parties late into the evening. The food was delicious and service was next level. They had lots of non-alcoholic options, but you have to clarify and sometimes come back for a cold beer. Adult only was a huge plus and would recommend for people in there 20's and 30's for a great all inclusive time!

The resort is old, unsanitary, dirty, customer service is awful. Broken furniture, ripped carpets. Blood on the sheets. Terrible experience. Ended up leaving the resort after one night.

The hotel was nice. It’s all inclusive. We appreciated the adult only environment. There are several speciality restaurants so we didn’t get tired of eating in the hotel while we were there.
The only thing we didn’t like was the room location. We requested two beds but initially got a one bed. The only room with two bed was in the bottom floor without any elevator access. It was not pleasant to carry the baggies by ourselves. They didn’t bother to send a bell boy with us when we changed the room.

Adequate at best. Food not overly good- service was not very personable! Definite language barriers with service providers at resort. Very disappointed when found out about the story of a young couple that had planned their wedding at this location. Resort was not accommodating- wouldn’t even let them use a small table from the pool area on the beach for the ceremony- very ridiculous! Thankfully the “annoying ‘vendors’ selling at the beach” offered a small table and saved the day for this young couple. Allergy tags on the food at the buffet was well done- however the language barrier at the “restaurants” did not provide good information for allergy issues! Very clean but also very stoic and not a “pretty” facility. Would not return to this hotel when go back to Cabo!

Our stay was good. Food is mediocre but there is plenty of variety. The property grounds were clean. The room had an odd odor. The staff was great at all times. The vendors on the beach are a bit overwhelming but very friendly.

It was an ok resort. Nothing special about it. My husband and cousin both got food poisoning at the Italian restaurant on site. Don't get the lamb.

My wife and I visited the RIU Baja for her birthday to relax and somewhat party. The rooms are nice, the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The buffet was typical buffet food, however the food at the steakhouse was delicious. they have convenient 24 lounge that's open all day and night. They have two pools, one for activities another with a poolside bar and seating. The pool with the bar is more desirable because of the warm water however it did contain bugs and small trash. Now there is a small somewhat private beach that is accompanied with the locals selling henna tattoos and bracelets and more, but they are aggressive and sometimes they don't take no fro an answer. The family resort next door is a Riu resort as well and you have full access to their pool activities bars and parties. What my wife and I didn't like is the fact they have a sports bar a large gift shop a wider selection of food and fruit games and more. The adults ONLY foam pool party was held at the family resort which ended at like 9pm. They even have a performance stage at the family resort. It make us regret booking the adults only resort.

Typical all inclusive resort that caters to
Quantity instead of quality! Nothing special or to rave about

We had a great time at RIU Baja. I saw a few reviews, which I never really listen to, saying that the food wasn't great. We thought the food was very good for an all inclusive. Probably the best buffet out of any resort I have been to so far, and that is a lot of them.

Beautiful Property with amazing views of the famous Arch and close to Downtown and The Marina. Our UBER was only $8 from The Marina after our fishing trip and also after a sunset cruise the next day.

This was our second stay at the RIU palace Baja California and it was just as amazing as the first!! If I had to pick the one thing I didn’t like it would be our room location. We were right by the stage in the the theater area and it was quite loud at night but the rest of our stay was perfect! Great food, fabulous drinks and the staff will almost bend over backwards to get you what you need! 10/10 well be back!

This resort was wonderful- the facilities and staff were amazing and it was very well kept. The rooms were decent, showers and toilet rooms were a bit dirty (corners, baseboards, shower shelves and around the toilet) but housekeeping kept the general room clean and tidy. Food was very good too- the Japanese restaurant was our favourite.
Not in the resorts control or fault of the resort, but the surroundings of the resort (on the beach) were FULL of people trying to sell you things. Souvenirs, braids, massages, and illicit drugs. They were quite pushy and someone came up to us every 5 minutes.
Overall a great stay, we would definitely go back.

We enjoyed our time. Made the best of it. Check in service was poorly handled and had to get management involved that didn’t handle our issue well either stating it has to do with their corporate office policies and they are the only ones that can help us. They would not help us contact their office and no one answered any numbers we could find as we sat in the lobby.

My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon. After reading reviews for months we settled on RIU Baja California as our destination in Cabo. We decided on an oceanfront suite and up purchased to the Elite club. Upon arrival check in was smooth and bags were taken to our room so we could begin exploring. The entire week, the service was AMAZING. All of the staff were friendly and aimed to keep you happy. The property was extremely clean as was our room. There were many restaurant options and nothing we had disappointed. The elite club restaurant which is only available to the elite club members was UNREAL. The views from this restaurant are also really good. Drinks were great. I could literally go on and on.
There is transportation available to get to the marina for a small fee and the bell boys will get you transportation and direct them to where you’re going.
The ONLY thing we wish would have been a little better was privacy on the beach area that is roped off for RIU guests. The beach vendors are extremely nice but the constant “no thank you” reply’s as they walk through all day makes it a little less relaxing. We stayed in the pools most days because of this. While I understand this is how they make their living it’s also at times slightly irritating.
Finally, if you’re looking for a resort with peace and quiet THIS RESORT IS NOT FOR YOU. Riu is very much an active, happening resort. There are shows, music, parties, etc. We LOVED this but know it’s not for everybody!

Love the resort! I just Wish there was more entertainment

We loved the Baja California resort, but the Rio, Santa Fe next-door was extremely loud with thumping music some nights. If you can handle that, then, this resort is great… Very attentive staff, very clean, any time I called room service they were there within five minutes. Overall a great place if it weren’t for the next-door property.

Liked the room, clean. Didn’t like show needs work

Noisy, staff was bothered by us requesting extra towels and pillows. Food was below average. No name alcohol.

We stayed at Riu Palace Baja California from 01/07/24-01/12/24.
LOCATION 5 Stars
POOLS 5 Stars
ROOM 3 Stars
FOOD 2 Stars
SERVICE 2 Stars
SERVICE: On night #4 we were woken up at 3am by an overwhelming sewer water odor filling our room. Dealing with the front desk was a disappointing experience. He made it seem like I was bothering him and did not want to give us another room. Packing all of our things up at 3am was bad enough, but the front desk staff made it much worse.
The waiters and workers were very friendly! But our experience working with the front desk was really disappointing.
LOCATION: LOVED the location right on the beach. Especially LOVED that we could walk to the adjacent Riu Santa Fe and Riu Palace, and eat/drink/explore.
FOOD: The food was mediocre. Nothing was cooked to order at any restaurant. Even the separate restaurants did not prepare food fresh. It was all prepared in advance, and a waiter filled your plate and brought it to the table. We visited nearly every restaurant, including the neighboring Riu resorts. The food was a huge disappointment.
ROOMS: The rooms look nice, and I loved the balcony! However the beds were cheap and uncomfortable. When the other person moved or rolled over, the whole bed moved. We tried 3 separate rooms (due to sewer odor) with the same result.
POOLS: Fantastic! Absolutely loved the numerous pools, including 2 swim-up bars. The cabanas, pool area and lounge areas were top-notch!

Overall, our stay was enjoyable. Our bedsheet had a big blotch of blood on it upon arrival which I found repulsive but I reported it and they replaced it. Not sure how it was missed to begin with. For the most part, the staff was good but a few were too busy socializing with one another and getting their attention was annoying at times.
Definitely, less talking to each other and more focus on the job should be explained to some of the staff.

The RIU Palace Baja California is a beautiful property. The food was amazing with many choices. The rooms are updated and very clean. The service and staff were very accommodating. My only complaint was the cleaning of the pool deck around the lounge chairs could be better but overall the resort is excellent.

The resort looked well kept and clean. There were a variety of restaurant choices and the staff was extremely kind. The views were amazing and it was a relaxing time. Only downfall is the entertainment, the shows are not too entertaining. It was awesome when they were doing karaoke but that was short lived. Also, the parties are next door at Santa Fe which makes no sense if Baja is supposed to be the adult only resort.

This was our first stay and a RIU and overall we enjoyed our stay. We had an oceanfront suite and Elite Club. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, but the room, location, and overall amenities were nice. The food was plentiful and despite having more premium dining options, we preferred the regular restaurants. Room service left a lot to be desired but it was nice to have it included. We will definitely come back!

Nicely and newly built property. Very nice views to the main attraction of this place. Food quality is good but lack in variation between days. Should introduce Asian/Indian menu to attract more people.
Our room service attendent took some money from my wallet I left behind while went to the beach. I know it's a human nature and hard , but that is where trust factor lies when you leave behind everything in the room and can't put everything everytime in the locker. My fault too, I should have kept it in locker.
