The location and staff were great! Wonderful breakfast and dinners. I stayed mid-week and it was very quiet. I would stay here again.

The history behind Pousada Bartholomeu and the building itself is amazing. The location is fabulous.

Pousada Bartholomeu was extremely charming. It is a beautiful and well maintained old building in the heart of Centro Histórico. Literally the town square is in the front of the building. The room was spacious and cutely decorated. The breakfast was very good, too. We did encounter a problem when the pousada lost our reservation, but they were never dismissive and worked to get us our room.

Everything about the Pousada Bartholomeu was wonderful, great location, quiet room, amazing restaurant (we had the best food in Paraty here) beautiful garden. However, the bed was very hard. Apart from that, we loved our stay.
Beware though, no cars are allowed in the old part of town, so getting your suitcases over the incredible cobblestones is a challenge, but well worth it.
