Very friendly staff, clean and beautiful

It’s a great location and has lots of amenities. However, it’s not a relaxing hotel. Lots of people running around, lots of noise, and restaurants are busy. So if you are looking for a convenient location as a top priority, this works great. But if you want quiet and relaxing, you may want to look elsewhere.

Always a great stay at this hotel. Convenient to Universal.

our stay was good, the only negative thing was that housekeeping didn't clean our room at all in our stay.

Everyone was wonderful, room was clean. Beds had thin blankets and could hear everything going on in the hallway at night, even with a noise machine next to my head. We did only stay one night so may have eventually gotten used to it. Other than that was nice.

Great hotel with lots of amenities.

We understand that it is a value resort but a few littke things could make it a lot better. 1. Move the smoking area. We were in tower two and had to walk through the smoking section in the outdoor area. 2. Make the pool area more fun. Every little toy ball someone tried to play with was whistled at and made to remove. 3. Add some kind of closer food option for the pool or make it more convenient to get food. 4. Better cleaning of the room. The beds were made, towels restocked, and coffee restocked but floors were not cleaned and dirty towels not removed.

Hotel was perfect for families. Two bedroom suite slept up to 6. Pool area was nice and not crowded. The onsite Starbucks and Pier 8 Market had great selections for food. Shuttles ran consistently, we never had to wait from the hotel or from Universal.

Dockside was awesome! We stayed 5 days. Check in was smooth, the staff was very helpful. The shuttle service to Universal Studios made our vacation even better. The early access benefit was such a gift and allowed us the jumpstart we needed to enjoy the rides ahead of the long lines. Despite the crowds the ride to & from the parks was always smooth. The 2 bedroom was just right for our family of 4 (2 young adult kids). We were on the top floor in Tower One wonderful view of Volcano Bay and fireworks at night. And of course the pool (also great!) The food was sufficient from the Market cafeteria downstairs and was really helpful when the weather started. We didn’t have to leave the resort but for little things. Ride shares had their own lane right in front of the resort. We were walking distance from restaurants, other entertainment, shopping etc; even when the elevators became packed the wait wasn’t too long and the ride up was pretty fast. Gated parking area and garage both a plus. Overall lovely place, family friendly and safe. We will definitely be back.

Overall, the hotel was great! I could have checked out with a text message, but I didn't have any reply about check out, so I needed to go to the reception.

This hotel is good for a few days at Universal, but I would not want to stay here for a full week. The room is small but worked well for our family. The food is okay, not great, but lots of choices for picky eaters. The service was very good - the hotel staff kindly ran a first aid kit up to our room to handle a minor injury. Everyone was nice.

Overall, the Dockside resort was very convenient for our trip. The buses to the parks are very convenient and the amenities at the hotel were great as well. My only complaint would be that the door is thin between rooms and can let a lot of noise from the neighboring room in.

Hotel is close to universal parks and there are shuttles every 10mins till 1am. You get early entry for staying here. Lobby was spacious with plenty seating and hang out places. Restaurant was good with plenty of choices and there are restaurants in walkable distance (10mins). Rooms were small with little storage space. Pool is big with a sand beach

The resort was at capacity, and there were many school groups staying there which made the elevators and other common areas challenging at times. Breakfast opened at 7am, which seems awfully late, and pair that with the first shuttle to the Universal parks starting at 7am, meant that you either went without breakfast or had to get the day prior. The facility was nice and modern, some areas in the room were already showing their age (it’s only been open for a few years). We would likely not stay at this property again.

Great place to stay in Orlando.
Easy to get to universal parks on the hotel bus.
Cafe was well stocked and reasonably priced with many options.
Daily housekeeping kept us in great shape.

Hotel needs a little more staff at check-in is the line backed up to 60 to 70 people. Bag checking is very easy here, hotel rooms are very clean, pool areas also very clean.

No complaints! Having a shuttle to the park is a great benefit!!!! The suite was perfect for me and my son! Enjoyed ourselves very much!

I regularly stay at this hotel as I find it a great location to be in. It has excellent service to and from the Universal theme parks, it is within easy walking distance of Walgreens, 7/11, I-Hop and International Drive.
The 2 bedroom suites are very spacious and have a handy fridge and microwave.
The beds are large and comfortable.
The blackout curtains work very well.
The food court in tower 1 serves a good, wide variety of foods.
It is very easy to access any help needed with Universal Studios questions you may have and you can buy tickets for entry or events for any Universal parks in the lobby.
There are lots of washing machines and dryers located in both tower 1 and tower 2.
Tower 1 is my favourite as it is a little closer to the food court area, but I have found tower 2 to be a little quieter.
Downsides are that there is often a long wait for checking in.
There is only entry into the hotel through the main gates and a fence entry opposite the front of the hotel, meaning that if you would like to go to 7/11, I.Hop, etc you need to walk the long way around.

It was a newer and beautiful resort. Universal resort with upscale dining experience. Food is good but pricey and parking fees not included. Overall good experience with a fast check in. The entire resort felt save and secure. A plus was the shuttle bus that ran to Universal all day and up till closing.

Room was a bit loud. I could hear lots of noises from other people and hotels mechanical equipment.

Great pool!

It’s a big property. But feels like it’s a big dormitory. Too many tour groups and high school kids. A bit too noisy and crowded for our taste. We prefer Loews.

Gave us a room with adjoining room door and we had no reaction to adjoining room.
It’s as if they were in our room when they talked. Horrible that they do this without informing you. Impossible to sleep. Got awoken very early.

Amazing place, price was amazing, shuttles to the parks were constant and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious but little space to unpack belongings. The pool was awesome. Totally loved it! Would def go back!

Really enjoyed the locatiin, convenience, friendliness and cleanliness

We loved so much about this property. What made it a 3 star experience instead of 5 was the noise!! It was horribly loud all night on most nights of our stay. It gives paper thin walls a whole new meaning! We would hear the alarms of people in the rooms next to us so loud it was like they were in our room. Literally everything else was amazing. The pool = awesome, the rooms were great and we loved the easy transport to universal. Just add some insulation to your rooms please!!

The check-in line was extremely long and the lines for purchasing food were also way too long. Otherwise, the people were friendly and helpful and the food was actually quite tasty. Pool area is beautiful and well maintained. Our hotel room was quite nice and served our simple needs perfectly.

The Pros: We loved how big and clean the room was. The grounds were well kept, the pool was warm, and food was affordable. All transport to the parks were fast and reliable. We never waited in a long line like we do at Disney resorts.
The Not So Greats:The blankets are really thin... We had to turn the heat up to 75 degrees to stay warm. There isn't enough staff at the front desk during check in. Our initial night we spent over an hour in line to check in which after traveling for 12 hours is less than ideal.
We will stay again but we will bring fleecy pajamas and maybe a stool to stand on while checking in.
