Always a charming and serene place.. my second time.. will bring my kids next.

It was wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly. The library had free snacks n drinks. There is a beautiful trail to walk. The only draw back was that there was no refrigerator in the room. I had to store my diabetes meds n it was inconvenient. They also don’t have ramps for the bags to carry to the reception area. I thought that was odd for people in wheel chair.

Staff was so courteous.

We had a fantastic stay. Great service, great food and beautiful rooms!

Room wasn't ready just after 4 pm nominal check-in time, so that inconvenienced me quite a bit, but otherwise good stay overall. Nice staff at the bars and restaurants. Somewhat annoying to pay $28/day 'resort fee' (it isn't a resort), and $10/day park fee (it is in a state park, but they could include that in the daily rate). Hotels should just charge the whole rate up front, rather than these deceptive additional profit fees - so we can more accurately compare and plan our travel budget.

Another nice stay here. The rooms are small but nicely appointed. The amenities and in-room coffee service excellent. Food and beverage options also good. This is a hotel that’s off the beaten path. All in all great stay at a surprisingly nice hotel.

Very quiet and relaxing. Would have liked a mini bar in room but that was not a major issue. Restaurant menu is limited but the meals were excellent.

Cool place to end our retirement journey! This hotel did not exist five years ago when we moved ~ but it was an awesome getaway that made us feel like we were someplace new; even having lived here for 23 years.
They did an amazing job of resorting this seminary and Catholic school that ran for 45 years, and was originally built in 1931. Then it became part of the State of Washington State Parks and in 2017 a public-private partnership was created to allow the old building to become a hotel. The attention to detail is outstanding and it is visually pleasing, comfortable, nice grounds, good food, excellent service.
Definitely a place to take a staycation if you live close - or to encourage those visiting you to take some time here. We loved it ~ it was the perfect place to relax after a whirlwind week of socializing.

This was such a serene place in a nature park with trails next to river. Beyond clean quite pristine.
Food was a bit too fussy and expensive.
The art was amazing.
Room was sublime..the view from opposing windows too die for!

Honestly there is nothing bad about this hotel. It’s a refurbished boys’ school with lots of hiking - but honestly not much else to do. For a spa retreat I can see it being good but the rooms are not as nice as they look online. Very wonderful staff and you can redeem stamps here which is the reason to stay if you are in the area. One of a kind experience, but not one I’d seek out.

New modern hotel with a rich history. Beautiful location surrounded by great hiking and walks, free ebikes to use on the property, a beautiful spa, fun library with board games and free snacks, and gorgeous art throughout. The food was fantastic and both bars and restaurant, and the staff was exceptionally accommodating and friendly. Telling everyone we know because we rarely give a 5 star review and this deserved 6!

LOVED this hotel. Room was small but very nicely decorated and appointed. Attention to details everywhere - large luxurious towels, nespresso maker in room, comfy bed and pillows. Loved the hallway art gallery and the park grounds surrounding the hotel. Great hiking and very fun bikes available for guests.
5.0
The staff, location, dining, and the surroundings could not be better. One caveat to people considering a stay is that the room are small. Don’t bring a lot of luggage, it won’t fit. And the rooms are not made for short people. I needed my husband to get something down in the bathroom, and a step stool for the bed would be a nice addition.
Make sure to check out the library on third floor. It is quite a treat.
