My boyfriend and I just got home from a fantastic weekend getaway in Jim Thorpe/Poconos. We stayed at what I would consider the greatest campground I've ever been to, honestly better then any place I've stayed at. Camptel Poconos Glamping Resort and the managers are the freaking best. The camp ground itself are storage containers turned into cabins set up on your lot with covered seating, grill, propane fire pit. Our cabin, Thor, had a porch and balcony off the back, inside was a living room with a pullout sofa, kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and a queen size bed in its bedroom. Everything was just the right size for the two of us and never in each other's way. It was nothing less of perfection. In the common areas of the campsite is a huge fire pit surrounded by chairs, a few games, gym, and hot tubs. Even with all the rain we were able to roast a couple marshmallows 😋 and enjoy everyone's company.
We lost power the first night and the managers came around to check on us, offering anything we would need to be comfortable during the outage. Also, which was beyond expected, came and picked us up from the concert venue when we couldn't find an uber or lyft!!!
There is no doubt in my mind we will be back!!!! Thank you Camptel for such an amazing weekend 💕

This place is so nice, i didn't want to leave. the tiny home i was staying in was brand new, very clean, comfortable. it still needed some details to be added like for example a light outside to be able to sit at night because it was very dark. each unit should have its own grill instead if having all grills in one area, some of the grills were not working properly. The restaurant is not operating so we bad to drive around to look for places to Eat and drink. People that work at camptel are so nice and kind. The place needs to work on adding activities for the guests to do during the night. I would definitely come back.

This property was so cozy and relaxing. All of the hot tubs worked, there’s plenty of amenities on the property, and the tiny home was super clean, organized and fun! very close to hiking, kayaking, and other activities near Lake Harmony. Highly recommend this place!! ¨̮

Great stay for two nights. We enjoyed the lawn games, gym, sauna, hot tub and grill! Close to a great hiking spot and to rafting. Would come back for sure.

Stayed for 3 nights in Raccoon Crossing. It was a comfortable stay perfect for 2 people AC, shower with hot water and tv but still can hang outside by the fire and bbq dinner and all the good camping things. Loved the location as it lies next to the state park.

Loved this place! Very clever theming of the different renovated containers. Such a great place with a lot of whimsy!

It was a fairly pleasant stay overall. The room has a descent size for a couple and has all we need. We really like the fact that there is a kitchen. The campsite is also nicely decorated and well maintained. It would be great if a comforter could be provided, rather than a light quilt + a blanket. It was really cold at night and in the early morning in the woods. Small things in the room need maintenance, e.g., the toilet bowl in our bathroom was not really sturdy. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience for us. Would be happy to go back again.

Booked Big Ed for a weekend and we loved the accomodations. Very comfortable, modern and cozy.
We arrived after 4pm and was given the info to check in virtually.
Things I think are worth a mention:
1) There are lots of cats outside. They didnt bother much but if you are outside eating expect their companionship. Took all of me not to feed them because I suppose thats what they stick around.
2) we are city folks and have never used propane fire pits before. We assumed the tank was empty so we text the manager Dave. He arrived without a response which is perfectly fine. However, his demeanor was very unfriendly and somewhat aggressive. He spoke to us like we were idiots so that was unappreciated. Glad we only needed to contact him that one time.
3) the grille restaurant on site was verg cute and fun. Staff was very friendly and drinks were.good. Sadly, my husbands chicken came out raw. I mean red in the middle. We were quite surprised since everything had been good. We just assumed it was a one off incident and didnt make much of it. However I do think we shouldnt have been charged for it but it was what it was.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

We were extremely happy with our choice. Dave and staff were friendly and accommodating. The time homes were clean and comfy. We booked We Are, but moved become my hubby just had a hip replaced and Dave felt he needed a handicap accessible tiny home and it worked out much better! Highly recommend!

Great place to stay with my Son I did not give it a five star rating because the propane tank was empty for the outdoor gas fireplace and the cost of breakfast was extremely high

It was a fun trip! No hot water! Called the number provided and no answer and mail box was full. Day before we were leaving we ran into maintenance guys. They were very much aware of the no hot water problem. Well, do something about it if you want people to come back. There were cats crying all night. The restaurant was closed while we were there. Say that in your advertisement. It’s a cute idea but more thought needs to go into it!

Very happy with our weekend stay at Camptel tiny homes. The tiny container camp was very nice, very clean & had everything we needed.
Love the idea of the container campground, the hot tub containers & the delicious restaurant/bar on site. Very close to the Pocono Raceway & some of the popular waterfall trails.
Was a little disappointed in making reservations on hotel.com, the day after we reserved our site the prices dropped in half. Thankfully Camptel gave us a better price than originally reserved for. The young girl managing the campground during our stay was great, very friendly & helpful. Had to call maintenance upon arrival due to a broken lock, he had it taken care of in minutes. We hope to return for a longer stay!

Our unit smelled of stale smoke.
The wastebasket was full when we arrived
Both nights we were there loud motors were running, at times we could even feel our unit vibrate due to the work being done on the grounds. Why was this work being done throughout the night?

It was a unique experience to live in a tiny house up in the mountain so close to Hickory State Park and a short trail walk to the beautiful Hawk Falls
Tiny house it is but everything is there. Nice comfy beds and amenities can’t be beat for this tiny house. Great host! Checks with you if everything is ok
Looking forward to stay again in Summer

This place was so cool! The campers are made out of shipping containers and are very comfortable and give a high end feel. The camper was very nicely decorated and spacious. The lot it was on was large with 2 fire pits. It was a private, comfortable hotel feel all while camping. We will definitely be back!

Me and my boyfriend decided to book a stay here for our 1 year anniversary and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. This place is very lovely and beautiful. The tiny homes are so cozy, clean and it honestly felt like our little love coop lol. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall we highly recommend this place and we will for sure come back in the summer. Thank you!

Overall, my family of 4 had a great time! It was cozy and comfortable. The location was great, 2-minute drive from Falls Hawk Trail which we also enjoyed. Easy check-in (done remotely). I have a couple of comments to add for improvement for future guests. I love the kitchen, 9/10 which is complete with a ref, microwave, coffee maker, dishwashing soap, paper towels, kitchenwares and an electric stove, I wish they provided more cookwares, they only have 1 small frying pan in our unit, I don’t know about the other ones though I could have brought from home. Our bathroom was an 8/10 just because the door knob was broken, my husband had to fix it and for some reason, there’s a foul smell when exhaust fan was on. The no-no for me was the couch which was full of dog hairs, they were on our clothes and my son was allergic but we had his medicine so it was under control, we just had the bed rolled down the entire time. Another thing is the brown blankets which had human hairs, probably not washed thoroughly, but I brought our own blankets so it was no biggie. We are used to regular tent camping so this was really glamping!
Like I said, our weekend stay was great and will come back here again during summer. I’ll know what to expect and what to bring next time. Would definitely recommend to friends, a lot of them are already asking! 😄

We are a family of 5, so finding accommodations with enough beds can be daunting, and even expensive. I stumbled on to the Camptel through Expedia. 3 beds, didn't see any hidden charges and glamping! Before we arrived, I received a phone call they may have to move us from the original booked due to a maintenance issue, but would discuss further when we arrived. When we arrived, everything was good. We arrived before check in and it wasn't quite ready, so we wandered to the on site restaurant. Rose is nothing short of amazing. We got there before they were open but she accommodated us. she got us drinks, let my kids make popcorn and even had games. The food there is spectacular. Best steak we've ever had, but the pasta dishes are amazing as well. Before we ate, our cabin was ready- before check-in time. It was a cozy little place. Our kids loved the lofts. We are animal lovers- have 25 at home, including about 10 fish. They have feral cats! We din't know till we seen them first night and by night 2 we bought cat food. My daughter was able to pet them for a short period. We had an excellent trip. I've read some of the negative reviews and think people are being nit picky. It's glamping, it's not a 5 star hotel stay. If you like city life and that experience, it isn't here. we are a laid back want to experience things family. It was perfect for us!

Pros - The staff, location and concept were great. Beds extremely comfortable. Sufficient heat given in cabin. Wifi was good great access to t.v. channels.
Cons - Conditon of my space disappointing. The sheets were stained hair from prior guest found in bed. The floors had been soaked through in some spots due to rain so that made it very uncomfortable to walk around. Not given enough tissue or towels. Thank goodness we brougt our own. Did not have enough propane for fire pit table so we could not use night we arrived and could not experience next night due to rain. So we missed out on that, something we were looking forward to doing.

We were excited to stay in a tiny house. It was cute and new. But that's where our enjoyment ends. It was raining the day we arrived. The windows were open in the bathroom and bedroom causing the entire bathroom to be wet and water on our bed. It took a while to get the ac/heat unit on but at least there were space heaters because it was freezing in the house when we arrived. We tried the hot tubs but after waiting awhile, it never went warmer than the 82 degree it turned on at. The worst part was when we woke up around 6AM, we realized there was no power. There was also no water so that meant no flushing toilets and brushing teeth. The couple in the house next to us went to find the complex owner with no luck. I felt bad for them as they had another night stay. We immediately left by 7am. It was cold and we couldn't even shower. I understand this is a camp ground but I didn't sign up for actual camping but the advertised glamping experience.

I really liked my stay. It was clean and the area was well lit up at night. The tiny houses were comfortable and cozy. The only issue was in the early morning the floors were really cold. The temperature was only around 50-55 degrees during the day, so night was med 30’s. I’m assuming the floors underneath are not really insulated. So bring slippers, I didn’t lol! Otherwise everything else was great. The employees were extremely friendly and were helpful with anything we needed. These shipping container campsites are a cleaver idea. I would definitely stay again.

Cool spot!! Heat is tricky if u don’t know what you’re doing. 15 min from penns peak .. 25 min from Jim Thorpe. Loved it more than my hubby. Bring a few disposable items like plates … & plastid wear. Our unit, the Nittany had a fridge and microwave, no stove.
