Our stay was truly a wonderful experience, and we’d recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature. The water activities were a highlight, and the family’s hospitality was genuinely memorable. They’re kind, warm, and made the place feel special. The food was delicious, mostly cooked over a traditional wood stove
The wood stove’s drifted into the rooms. Once communicated they were accommodating with using gas. 2 things that would have been helpful to know before booking. Parrots are adorable but quiet loud in the mornings; I lived the full experience at the Guacamaya’s house 😆; luckily had my headphones and played some white noise to be back to sleep; and that the boat transfer fee is separate, and wasn’t clearly mentioned until after reservation.

The two caretakers, Diego and his wife, are very kind, attentive, and helpful. We had a pleasant stay and felt well taken care of.
What was frustrating, however, was the communication from the owner. On Booking it was not mentioned that we would need to pay an additional 170,000 COP for the boat pickup. The boat ride takes about 35 minutes. The owner informed us about this only on the day of the pickup, first saying it would cost 160,000 COP, and then the next day the price was suddenly 180,000 COP.
This was quite annoying and should be communicated much more clearly in advance. For that reason, we have to significantly reduce our overall rating.
