The harbour is a hive of activity with boats of all shapes and sizes which leads inland along the Fowey Estuary, a tree-lined valley with relaxing woodland walks and a hundred shades of green. Catch the ferry over to Bodinnick or explore the ancient harbours of Looe and Polperro, which are steeped in legends of smuggling and wrecking; they have quaint fishermens’ cottages and coastal views. A short distance to the west lies Charlestown, an iconic harbour where time stands still.
