Confirmed apartment was not ready – left stranded at night with two children

Unfortunately, nothing. We had a confirmed reservation and had informed the property in advance that we would arrive at around 22:00. Despite this, we were unable to access the apartment at all and never stayed there.

The property knew our arrival time well in advance. We informed them that we expected to arrive at around 22:00, which they acknowledged, and the day before our arrival they explicitly told us that “Your apartment is ready for check-in” and that self-check-in instructions would be provided. We arrived in the area at around 22:24, but could not find or access the apartment. At 22:35 we messaged the property through Booking.com asking for help, but received no effective assistance. Since we were using a data-only eSIM and could not make normal phone calls, I had to ask strangers on the street for help. Thankfully, a local Albanian gentleman agreed to call the property for us. The person responsible for the apartment then spoke to me directly. We exchanged WhatsApp details, and he apologized and told me that he had forgotten to inform us that the apartment was not ready. We were therefore left stranded late at night with 4 adults, two small children aged 5 and 2, our luggage, and nowhere to stay, despite having a confirmed reservation and despite being told the previous day that the apartment was ready. We had no choice but to urgently find and book another hotel ourselves at around 23:16, costing us double the amount. As a direct result of the property failing to provide the confirmed accommodation, we also incurred transport expenses, which we are documenting and submitting to Booking.com for review and reimbursement. To make matters worse, the property later reported to Booking.com that we had not checked in, even though we had travelled to the property, contacted them through Booking.com, had a local person call them on our behalf, and eventually spoke directly with the person responsible for the apartment. This was an extremely stressful and unacceptable experience. I am writing this in detail so that future guests — especially families with children are aware of what happened to us before deciding to book this property.

La ubicación

Me ofrece desayuno a través de booking y sin embargo me dice que desde hace 1 año ya no tienen ese servicio. En lugar de solicitarlo me dicen que no y se quedan tan cómodos El check in fue con más de tres horas de retraso ( y sin avisarme) . Me tocó irme y volver más tarde…. Y estuve esperando en la calle más de 30 min hasta que milagrosamente apareció la señora de la limpieza.
