Comfy bed. The women´s area has good privacy and separate bathroom from the mixed area. There is a nice system for borrowing slippers to keep the floors clean. The space of the restaurant downstairs can be used by hostel visitors during hours it is closed, we had a little convienience store breakfast there, it was nice.
There was no soap in the bathroom, I moved the soap from the sink in the room to the bathroom. There were small lockers for valuables, no ability to put your whole suitcase in a locker if you´re looking for that.

The cleanest and value for money accommodation you will find near Hirosaki Park
If you're reading this next year, doing your cherry blossom planning or years after - we stayed during peak bloom when it gets packed with crowds , but being so close to the park we were able to visit early mornings had the park to ourselves which was a truly magical experience
And the hostel itself is maintained so well you will not regret it, even if you're not used to shared bathrooms.

The hostel was pretty empty during the time I went to see the cherry blossoms and it was very clean as well. Nice amenities, clean bed area, very nice check-in lady.

Cleanliness
Very noisy. I stay in private room but you can hear people whisper, cough, sneeze, fart, in next room! Ear plug DO NOT help! You can hear everything like people walk, use bathroom, even line or WhatsApp notification of others outside your room. Ridiculous!
