Very good .. except the breakfast

A beautiful, quiet position, only steps away from the wonderful cathedral.

Villa Medicis is a wonderful place. Situated in a beautiful old convernt, its an old people's home that lets out a handful of trooms to tourists. The staff were most gracious, breakfast was very good and the room/s were perfect. We will happily return.

The ONLY thing is, you must let them know in advance when you're arriving because - as its a working old people's home - there's not always someone at the reception desk.

A quiet pleasant stay in Autun old town.

As others have said, the room is in an old monastery which is now an old people's home. This isn't a problem, especially if you are aware in advance. Our spacious room, with kitchenette and bathroom, was on the first floor with lovely views across the town. It was very central in the old part of the town, so easy to walk anywhere. There is a gated area next door to leave your car for 5 Euros per day. We ate a picnic in the inner courtyard, which has a rose garden and tables and chairs. Other events are going on around you, but don't interfere with the peace and calm. Breakfast was a croissant, roll, jam, ham, cheese, juice and hot drinks. We really enjoyed our stay.

The listing could make the set up a bit clearer. To gain access to the building you have to press an intercom with a constant buzzer until answered. As our room was above the door, this disturbed us overnight when others wanted to get in.

Simple but adequate

Could have had bedside lights, and pillowcases would have been nice!

Un lieu plein d’histoire, très agréable pour faire une pause. Le petit appartement est pratique pour une nuit et l’ensemble est propre.

Il manquait un ventilateur, ce qui a rendu la nuit chaude, et en ouvrant la fenêtre nous avons été réveillés tôt par un camion. Avec une clim ou un ventilateur, on ne l’aurait sûrement pas entendu. Il faudrait aussi mieux informer en ligne des suppléments (animal de compagnie et parking payant).

Le calme, la proximité à pied du spectacle que nous étions venus voir, le côté typique du lieu.

Nous avons eu très chaud car il n’y a aucune climatisation ni aucune possibilité de faire courant d’air. Le soleil tapait directement sur les fenêtres en plein après-midi. La literie n’étais pas des plus confortables.
