The cottage was great with lots of extras we didn't expect. It is clear the owners are mindful about what is important to have to make the property functional and practical and also make you feel valued.
My expectations were all met.

The house is a beautiful Victorian cottage with lots of original features. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. Sitting on the the terrace was lovely looking over the well kept gardens.
Not the hosts fault at all but when we arrived, Oudtshorn, was in the middle of a 5 day power cut which impacted the entire town. Our accommodation therefore had no electricity. Petra did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, offering us the option to take showers in a building which had a generator and providing us with battery lanterns. This situation was not their fault and it was great to stay there and I would do so again next time I am in the town.

Host met us as we arrived. Rooms were beautiful and comfortable.
Although the host offered to help with our trailer etc, I didn't feel that he was approachable with regard to the issues we had with the property.
Most of the bedroom doors did not close properly.
The room with the double bed had the Spot light from the hosts other property shining into the bedroom the ENTIRE Night, lighting it up as if it was daytime. the curtains were almost see-through so did not help
The bath and basin water pressure was extremely low and sporadic.
The room with the double bed had a piece of wood coming off the frame which caught my hand.
The bed had a fitted sheet that was too big for the bed
The duvet had a big brown stain on it
None of the beds had a sheet which one would expect from an establishment in this price range, actually we get sheets on our bed in every other establishment at a lower rate.
The floor boards in the kitchen move to such an extent that it hurt my foot
The bath water was brown but the kitchen water clear???
The kitchen was mostly empty cupboards with only the bare essentials in the form of cutlery, crockery and cookware.
