About this house rental
Located in an idyllic setting, this Cape Schanck retreat will have you feeling relaxed from the minute you arrive and drive down the beautiful tree-lined driveway.
A restored barn brought to life with modern comforts, whilst keeping its old charm features including a rustic potbelly fire place, exposed beams and original horse barn doors adding charm.
The space
There is a small kitchen as well as a dining and lounge area on the ground floor along with a queen bedroom and bathroom and your very own New York style bar. Upstairs is another queen bedroom with ensuite including huge spa-bath with a full parent's retreat and romantic dining with beautiful country views.

Sorry we are not pet friendly, due to the fact of the nearby horses
The overnight tariff is for 2 guests. 3rd and 4th guests will incur a $50pp charge to cover extra cleaning and laundry costs.

We stayed for a week and would have happily stayed for another. The property itself is emmacualte and the setting idilic - surrounded by tall trees, green fields and tranquity. Its a 15/20 min drive to most amenitites with some lovely walks 5-10mins away. You will be staying on the property of Christine and Dave and their two beautiful horses. I was curious as to how this would feel with owners next door and it turned out to be charming. Dave and Christine could not have been more hospitable and verey helpful. % star ratings all around for us.

Our romantic ANZAC Day weekend at Mornington Peninsula Retreat was truly memorable. A tree-lined driveway leads to a beautifully lit cottage and gardens, instantly creating an enchanting ambience. The restored barn exudes rustic country charm, featuring a potbelly fireplace, exposed timber beams and authentic horse-barn doors. Inside, modern comforts abound: a well-equipped kitchen, cosy living spaces and plush linens.On arrival, soft music played, lights were dimmed, and a complimentary bottle of wine awaited, demonstrating the host’s attention to detail. The location is superb - just minutes from acclaimed vineyards, restaurants, national parks and boutique shops, offering the very best of the Mornington Peninsula.Our host, Christine, provided clear and timely information via the booking portal, responding swiftly to all queries and adding a personal touch to our stay. Although our two-night visit offered a delightful taste of the retreat’s charm, it left us eager to return for a longer stay. We highly recommend Mornington Peninsula Retreat for couples seeking an unforgettable romantic escape.

This is our 3rd time staying at this lovely cottage. As always it was spotlessly clean, cozy, comfy and very tranquil with everything you could possibly want/need for your stay. Our host, Christine, keeps the property in tip top condition and is very easy and pleasant to deal with. With wineries, foodie venues, beaches, galleries etc all close by, the cottage is perfectly situated. Needless to say, we will definitely be back again. Thank you Christine for another lovely time away. Lindy & Ian
